Do these matter in admissions for Penn?

Do you think it’s advantageous to actually send in official AP scores from collegeboard if your scores are good?

hope not.

my AP scores suck.

Actually I'm almost positive they don't look at them.

If you send them, yes. If you took AP classes and don't send them, possibly. If you didn't take AP classes because your high school doesn't have any, then no.

No. It's a waste of money/time. Just self-report. I believe the Common Application now tells you where to list them if you would like them to be included.

Wait, just to clarify, we only officially send (and pay money to send) our AP scores to the college we get accepted to...right?

You get to send it to one college for free when you take the exams.

Some colleges mentioned that AP scores matter to assess grade inflation however I don't believe Penn address that in the info seesions.

Some colleges require official reports but I don't think Penn does.

Nobody requires official reports (the ones that cost money) when you apply. However, after you get in, if you want AP credit, then yes you will have to send an official report.

but doesn't the counselors report ur AP scores to the colleges in their transcript?? so if my counselors did that, do i still have to do the paid one??

Even though your counselor may report them, you still need to officially send them from Collegeboard after your acceptance, if you would like to be considered for exemption from classes.** I think I got distracted last time haha...Not quite sure how to modify posts

okay, so I guess that AP scores probably don't matter much in admissions since self-reporting isn't exactly the most legit thing?

Correct. That's why it's necessary to send an official ACT/SAT score report. People can self-report anything and colleges can not require students to send AP scores.
