Has anyone taken AP Spanish? What is the best prep book for it? I can't find any previous threads on it. I know the format of the Spanish exam will change next year, so what book is best for understanding Spanish, not the one with the best tips to master the layout of the test?

the spanish exam is changing AGAIN? it just did last year! it seems to get harder each year. anyways... Arco is really good for grammar review.. too bad i didnt have this book. as for test practice that is muy dificil, mas dificil que el examen AP... Barron's.

wow, haven't spoken spanish in a whole year.

actually, NO book out there is gonna really help out, because now they have an extra section taht no book covers. i forgot what it's called, but the french language exam as it, its like for prepositions of common spanish idioms
and there's gonna be a seciton of fill-ins with no help in terms of the word used.
AND there's gonna be a speaking presnetation instead of a story.

For us, the class was pretty awesome, but that depends on your school and teacher more than the AP designation. The exam is HARD - this is spanish VI for us - I got an A in the class - and doubt very much that I got a 5 - the speaking section in particular is hard.

highest A in the class 1st & 3rd qtr (2nd highest 2nd & 4th qtr), but a 4 on tha ap exam... i was just in a class with lazy natives... ehhh... anyone taken spanish lit????? i hope its cool...

i'm a non native speaker. Got a 4 on spanish lang, and a 5 on spanish lit. Both classes were pretty hard, but Spanish Lit was excruciatingly difficult, although I had an amazing teacher for that. I briefly skimmed through PR for both, but it wasn't helpful at all. For the language APs, unless u have a good teacher, ur pretty much on ur own. Good luck.

paulo cohelo's spanish books are pretty light to read(compared to other novels) and i think they helped me get the sense of the spanish sentence structure. Esp. helpful is "Once Minutos" :)

No book is going to be completely up to date, but i would go with barron's. I've been dissappoined by their books in other subjects (Euro, Gov), but their spanish book is really good. tons of practice that is applicable to the test.
