AP Spanish Lang - hopeless?

What is there to do with 2 months until the exam? Will Barron's help? We use Preparing for the AP Spanish exam prep book in class...but after looking at the curves/cutoffs for a 4-5, things aren't looking too bright...

I took the test as a junior last year. The roughest part is listening. Because they actually try to simulate conversations, so it’ll have background, “real-life” noise. And they’ll talk fast, as in native speaker fast. So it’s crucial to answer the questions as the tape goes as to not forget what was said. Do that if you can multitask well. If answering as you go along will make you lose track of the tape, don’t do it. Quickly jot down notes about the main topics instead.

The reading you can pretty much guess on if you have a decent vocabulary.

Writing is straightforward. You wrote well you will get a good au score for that section. You don’t, you won’t.

Grammar is about special cases. There are just a few “trick questions,” but they are crucial. The rest is good old grammar you should’ve learned over the past 3-4 years. Easy enough.

Speaking is about flow. Don’t stop talking. If you know you screwed up, repeat it using the correct word/conjugated verb. Don’t sit there in silence. Better to talk for the whole two minutes (even if you end up digressing) than being quiet for 1 minute. They really want to know the breadth of your vocabulary, and how well you can communicate. As long as you demonstrate that you can speak Spanish well, you will score well.

That said, good luck. (I got a 5 btw. Feel free to PM me if need be)

Grammar Section? I thought they excluded that section a few years back?

It seems like there isn’t much to do. I guess Barron’s is my final resort since that’s the only book CCers are recommending?
