AP Spanish Lang

how long should i spend on each reading for the AP Spanish Lang exam? Someone told me 5 minutes but im having trouble doing that effectively on the practice...

You get 45 minutes for the whole reading comprehension section I believe. And there are usually about 5 passages. So, I would say spend about 10 minutes or less on each one, although some are more difficult than others.

Who else took it today? I definitely got at most a 2. Listening was so fast, they gave us no time to look over our answers and spoke really fast. In my school it was worse because there was an echo because we took it in a gym. Reading and writing were better but still hard, except for the writing I realized that I didnt write what it was asking for. And then for the speaking forget about it. I think i only responded with one sentence each time. ITS SO ANNOYING being in a room with 7 other people all at the same time. Everybody said it was so distracting. I could not stay focused and I actually laughed because I couldn’t think. So yeah failure over here.

Also took it today…probably going to get a retake. There was some malfunctions with the headsets, so I did not get to listen to half the Oral presentation and the last listening MC for me was missing. Couple of other kids in the room had other problems as well.

I thought the exam was easy overall.

Cada parte:
Esuchar:

i cant remember the informal writing part. anyone wanna remind me what it was?

The informal part was writing a letter to the family you’re going to study abroad with.

As for the test in general, I’m a non-native speaker and am fairly confident I got at least a 4. The music was so distracting, lol, and we were in the big gym, so people laughed. And our recording was also with about 20 people per room, but I’m kind of used to it from Spanish class. My thoughts:

Listening - pretty easy and straightforward. Speed was good and it was well-enunciated (except for the last guy, but I agree, the questions were pretty general), though the dodo was the hardest… the music was distracting, grr.
Reading - I fell asleep during the madrid one but overall not bad, though I thought the new years one was hardest. I ran out of time towards the end because of my nap…
Essay - Okay. I thought the question was kind of broad.
Speaking - … kind of fail. I had to correct myself a few times and the 2 minutes was MUCH shorter than I thought it would be. I only got through half of what I wanted to say.

did anyone else think that the reading comp was by far the hardest section? we’ve practiced a lot in class but i still had so much trouble with it

During my listening section, the cd kept skipping. It was terrible. It even did that during one of the “what does she mean by this phrase?” so I missed the entire question. Other than that, the test wasn’t that bad

The actual test seemed a lot easier than the practices that we did in my class. I’m pretty confident that I passed, but I hope that it’s with a 4! If I got a 5, I’d be ecstatic.

i thought the test was extremely easy and im non native… the only problem was my timing on the oral formal was bad and i got cut off without including much about the audio or synthesis… but if i got a 4 or 5 on everything else then im pretty confident. according to my teacher (who i talked to right after the test) people have seemed more happy with this test than in past years… hopefully that doesnt mess up the curve :P

btw i thought the hardest listening was the famous salsa guy because the interviewer spoke fast as hell and the actual guy sounded like he was either high or drunk

^ LOL that is exactly what I thought, I figured he was drunk haha.

Listening - It was actually pretty easy for the most part, except a couple of problems here and there with some answer choices and the speed of the narrators (like the salsa dance guy). I was expecting listening to be horrid but luckily it was good.
Reading - Moderately easy. I think one passage gave me some trouble while the others weren’t bad.
Writing - The informal writing prompts are always easy so this wasn’t a problem. The presentational writing was mostly good, because the topic was easy. I sort of ran out of things to say at times though.
Speaking - Luckily, we didn’t have any problems with the equipment, although the first group of students took a while to start. Anyway, the informal conversation went mostly well, although I froze at times and I don’t know for the life of me how you’re supposed to make a 20-second goodbye. The oral presentation was a little iffy because I ran out of things to say and then I left the last 10 seconds blank. It was so awkward -______-

By the way, if I left the last 10 seconds blank but did a reasonably good job for the other 1 minute 50 second (lol), can I still get a 5 for that part?

Will someone please post what they got on the mc

out tape skipped too lolz. hopefully i got a 4 and im done with this language for the rest of my life.

taking spanish lit next year… **** me that was a terrible decision
and @studylover, you dont find out your ap scores until july

haha me too. i should’ve signed up for something less stressful than spanish lit for junior year. spanish lang in sophomore year was hard enough…

god im going to legitimately be the only junior in ap lit next year, plus im taking a full schedule with lots of super fun ap classes… but i hear lit isnt a lot of hw so that should be good

How did you all do? I got a 4.

I took span lit, got a 4, thank goodness i new the stories for the essays…
