Hi, how important is it to finish with AP Spanish Literature? I'm a sophomore and I did AP Spanish Language this year, which means I will be taking AP Spanish Literature this coming year. However, the class will not be offered at my school, but at the other high school ACROSS town. I would have to provide my own transportation to the school and I do not think that is an option. I didn't sign up for it, but I feel that this will ultimately become an impediment.

Let's see. AP Spanish language is usually given after 3 years of high school courses, which means people generally take it as juniors and seniors. If that's how it goes at your school and you've got it out of the way as a sophomore, why are you asking how important it is to finish off with lit when not so many even get that far? It's great, but definitely not essential. I haven't met a lot of people who've taken it, either. Just people who really love Spanish.

Besides, you have 2 more years.

You would think my wchool offers it with like 30% Latino student body, but nope; we stop at Spanish Lang as well.

We used to offer it, but the teacher who taught it for the whole county (on a special TV channel) quit, so they stopped offering it the year after I took Spanish Lang. I took a college course in Lit, and it was far more enjoyable than I think AP Spanish Lit would have been.
