Any college/university offer and AP Spanish course online kind of like EPGY does for various math/science subjects?

Yeah, I am an advocate for online courses. :D I recommend checking out UCCP (www.uccp.org) or Apex Learning (www.apexlearning.com). Both have nice programs, and you can access demos to get a feel for which you would prefer to go with. UCCP costs $325 per semester, and Apex Learning varies, depending on where you live. Generally they cost $350. I am currently taking APUSH and Honors Psychology online through UCCP.

Yo Sac... How's UCCP? Do they send you the year's worth of notes by mail ?

Does taking the course online come on your HS transcript?

Also, when comparing EPGY, Apex and UCCP, which is better?

thanks

So far, I like UCCP. I'm doing well, it's just easy to get behind when you have 7 other classes! Yes, my counselor is putting the classes onto my transcript and they will boost my GPA. Nothing is sent through the mail, everything is online. You watch tutorials, read lectures, do the textbook reading, and complete activites. I can't accurately compare Apex and UCCP because I haven't taken any through Apex. But, I have seen all the demos for Apex. UCCP seems to be a little more structured than Apex. Everything you do counts towards your grade. With Apex, a lot of the activites and assignments are optional and only suggested. It depends on what you'd like. Like I said, you can preview the whole FIRST UNIT of every Apex class on their website. Good luck! :)

Are there any online programs that offer financial assistance or are free? other than VHS...because they don't have courses I need/havent taken already...

I'm not sure... Not that I know of.

whats VHS?

Sac, Whats the benefit of doing an online course as opposed to a regular community college since my community college charges the same?

Online courses are great, but I don't know about foreign language courses. It's one of those things that you need experience with, and I guess most places a classroom is the place for that.

Sac89, was your guidance counselor pretty cool about including the AP spanish on the transcript or did you have to convince him/her?

on the topic of ap spanish..are there any good review books for that class?

I'm not taking AP Spanish. Currently, I have AP U.S. History and Honors Psychology. I didn't have to convince my counselor to add the courses, either. I asked him if they were going to count on my GPA (otherwise I wasn't going to take them) and he said they would. It was a pretty simple process because I had researched everything prior to telling him about it, and I printed out the syllabi and information for him to look over. He quickly agreed that I could take them. Taking online courses just depends on your learning style. I personally like being completely in control of my grade. I am given the material and have a due date. In fact, I have an A+ in APUSH so far, whereas people taking it in my school are all failing right now. In my opinion, it's easier to get lazy and not do the reading when you're in school. But, since I'm doing it online, I HAVE to do it, because I have no one else to rely on, you know? I highly recommend them. :)

Thanks for the input Sac89
