I'm gonna be a junior this coming year at one of the top high schools in my state.
Last year I worked sort of hard in the first semester, slacked off in the 2nd semester, got a D on the final exam, and had a B as final grade in my G/T Pre-Calc class. My Pre-Calc teacher is extremely hard, and everybody tells me that his class is the hardest math class ever, harder than Calc - "if you have a B in that class then you'll likely to have an A in Calc-AB".

I'm thinking of taking Stat along with Calc-AB this year - anybody ever done that? Was it hard? Or should I take Stat with Calc-C in my senior yr instead?

Other APs I'm taking next year: AP Eng, AP Bio, AP World History.

Oh btw, I hate math... But I plan on having a business major in college, Stat would help, right? ^^ Thanks!

Calculus and statistics are really very different types of mathematics, and many folks who don't like the math from precalculus enjoy statistics. In that sense, it's not really like you're taking two math classes simultaneously. I've had a handful of students who have taken the two classes concurrently, and most of them have said that they thought that statistics was the easier of the two courses.

You included the other classes you're taking for junior year, but you might take a look at your AP load that you anticipate for senior year. I'd probably take a look at the lighter of the two loads and make my decision based upon that. If they look to be roughly equal, I'd take it junior year: college applications can be enough of a process (especially if you're looking at taking a few risks on where you apply) that I consider it to be almost equivalent to taking a class for those few months.

I have an easier AP courseload in my senior year... So i might just take stat next year then. Thanks mathprof! =)

I'm taking AP Stat and AP Calculus BC at the same time.
From my experience, Calculus AB is a piece of cake.
You won't have any problems taking both at the same time.

Trust me you'll (wondering if you can make a contraction out of you will)be fine. I took AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Stats, AP Biology, AP Phys C, AP English Lit, AP Government, AP Econ Macro, and AP English Lan and still managed the time to read all the books and ace the AP test with 4's and higher. And AP Calculus AB is in AP Calculus BC meaning that the material in AB is in BC therefore you don't necessarily nee to study for AB. Calculus AB was a cinch since the class moves slowly when you already know the material, think of it as a free class. Stats is quite the interesting topic, it starts of with learning about graphs then moves on to Normal plots then to probability then to inference where usually probability being the hardest and the rest easy to medium. I'm sure you an handle all the classes. But my suggestion is to take both AP Cal AB and AP stats.
