Anyone use Huntington Learning Center for AP Stats tutoring? I am taking this class first semester and am not doing well at all and hope a tutor will help. I have an appt. tomorrow night to meet with a tutor at this facility and just wondered if any of you have used them before and if it was worth it. My teacher isn't available for private one-on-one tutoring. Thanks!

I don't have any experience with them, but have had 1 kid go through the class (and got a '5' on the AP exam), and my other one is taking the class now.

Don't be afraid to approach the kids in the class who are doing well for some help. Or, find out from the teacher if there are any students who took the class last year as juniors who are still at your school. If you sincerely want to understand and do better, those students wouldn't mind helping you out.

You are doing well in recognizing that you need to get some help early in the school year, before you become totally overwhelmed with this class. Good luck!

My D got help last year for Precalc from some Mu Alpha Theta kids. They needed service hours and were very glad to do it.

I have heard no negatives abut private tutors. In CA, they charged between $40-50/hour.

I second Astrophysicsmom's suggestion. My S tutored in math for 3 years, for HS and college students. His services were free.
