Hi,

I've read lots of queries about which subject tests people should take, and I'm sorry to add to the pile. I do have a specific question, though.

Should my subject tests correspond to my AP classes, or is it better to pick different subject areas to show more breadth of knowledge? What I mean is, if I do well on my AP Chem exam, will selective colleges need to know any more about my knowledge of chemistry?

My classes this year are AP Chem, AP English Lang, AP Spanish, AP Calc AB, and AP US History. I'm thinking of taking the US History subject test on May 7, then Math II and something else (Chem?) in June. But my AP scores should vouch for me in US History and Chemistry. Is there any point in taking the subject tests in addition?

Here's another question. I've struggled a lot with Spanish this year, and I don't think I will do as well on that AP exam as I would like (although I have a high grade in the class). I could take the subject test without listening to prove that I do have some skills...but I'm sure I couldn't get an 800, especially considering the harsh curve. So maybe a subject test score would only hurt my application? (The school I'm most interested in doesn't allow Score Choice.)

Arggggggh!!!!! Sorry for thinking aloud so much. Does anyone have any ideas about what I should do? Many, many thanks.
