i believe now we can talk about the FRQ responses. am i correct?

I would think so

“There will be NO discussion of MC questions at all, and NO discussing of FR questions until at least 48 hours after the exam. You read the rules, and we expect you to follow them.”

I finished the exam around 11:30 on Friday, so I guess we can now discuss. I am very upset of how I messed up the first religion FRQ. This is what I put: Mormons, Southern Baptist and Hutterites. I was going to put Lutheran first, but something in my mind told me to put Hutterities. I remember reading in the book that the Hutteries lived in SD, ND, Montana, etc. I know they were a religious group and similar to the Amish. My teacher told us Lutheran’s lived in the Midwest around Wins and Mich. So, that’s what put me off. I live in the South and everyone is Baptist, so that’s a give me. And I know everyone in Utah is mostly Mormon. I thought I did good on the rest of the FRQ’s, but on one I kind of was repetitive on the 2nd choice. I also talked about the Favela’s for that one question and India. I even drew an example. I think I am going to get a 3 or 4. It was my first AP test and I was shocked of the survey. Our person told us that it was part of the 75minutes, but read wrong. I was worried of one thing though. I had to cross out lots of my writing and had to write over it. Will this hurt me? I could read it, but I don’t know about them. I also thought the multiple choice was very simple and the easier than the 3 or 4 practice tests I took. Also, do they grade grammar and sentences. I think I could have had a couple fragmented sentences. I wish I could have re write my essay’s. :)

i did the same thing, i but catholic instead of lutheran. i also dont know how i did on the 2nd part of it, caues i talked about how baptists came to the south because of religious freedom.

for the 2nd one, i put that they were located on the outside of many urban areas becaue of increasing amount of people and only a set number of jobs and houses. part c i put that governments couldnt give them the gifts they give normal citizens like water or health care, how the do harm to the environment by bathing in the local waters and how they make a city look bad to multinational corporations.

and for the last one i put that dairy is going down due to larger milk sheds by increased transportation and more prodictivity by cows that can produce more milk, so no need for more. and that organic farms are going up because they are cheaper to run and that they are eco friendly and many people are willing to pay more for the food that wont ruin the enironment with pesticides.

im thinking i got like 1 or two points off for the last two, but like half off for the 1st one. i didnt feel that great about the mc, so maybe a 4 or a 3

I have a friend who told me she put Catholic for that one too. I said Baptists came to the South because of History (from England) and I forgot what else I said. I didn’t put the same as you for the 3rd one. I said people want organic because it’s healthier and no pesticides. And that organic is taking over dairy farming. And dairy farmers are loosing jobs. I didn’t understand what it meant when it said “identify”. The 2nd one I talked about Brazil and India and favela’s.

does anybody know for sure what the religions are now? i knew south was baptist (…right? D:) but i guessed roman catholocism for the other two (hoping that id get at least one correct). was mormon seriously one of them? i almost put mormon as a joke becuase my favorite singer (brendon urie) was/is mormon, but i crossed it out last minute and thought the joke wasnt worth it.

overall:

1= halfway decent. the first part i screwed up, the other two parts i did well on.

2= amazing. i put a joke in there, too XD i said that the squatter settlements were hard to help becuase their population growth rates are through the roof (if they have one!)

3 = FAILURE. i didnt know what organic milk was, im lactose intollerant :/

can you guys tell me if my answers were okay?

For the first one, i got them all correct except for the one in the south (!) i put some random religion.
I chose the church of latter day saints as my religions for the second part and i said they wanted to escape religious persecution and wanted economic prosperity- and followed other mormon groups there
for the inequal representation i said it didn’t represent the amount of religious diversity in the US.

ahh for the second one i bs’d. i said squatter settlements, for location, was outside of the main core business area, and filled with poverty.
for the two causes, i said deindustrialization, and that led to people losing their jobs and living in the squatter settlements and other bs.
the other reason…i forgot, just something about them being poor.
for the last one, i bs’d it, and for enviornmental ones i said it was filled with waste and it was unsanitary because lack of maintenance, and i bs’d something about political- how they could be taken advantage of (: /) and social, idk something else about them being poor.

for the last one, dairy farms: i put how urbanization is taking over the business for agriculture and some bs about it taking up too much room.
for organic farms, i said supply and demand, how it’s more efficient to produce for the growing need for it. i also said how it takes up less land, some bs like that.

can someone tell me which of my answers were okay? gah, i did okay on the MC but i think i messed up on the frqs. : /

FRQs were sooooooo easy (I self-studied by just reading Barron’s the night before). But did anyone else find the mc hard compared to Barron’s practice tests?

I think i did pretty good on the MC except for a few, but i did answer all 75 of them

On the FRQ’s i put this:

1a-mormon, southern baptist, and lutheran
1b-i put that like because of the civil way southern baptists were secluded because they split country in half and i put the south is a tight knit group of people because they have accents(lol it was difficult)
1c-the map didnt show the complete diversity of relgions of us. I used florida as an example i dont really remember what i put? lol i think i answered it correct though

2a-i put they are outskirts of city
2b-something about gentrification and land is more expensive is cbd. (idk if gentrification is right though im pretty sure that only happens in more developed countries)
2c-economic-they are bad for tourism
environmental-they are dirty and nasty(i didnt say that exactly but you get my gist)
social-cause more segregation

3a-dairy is declining because it is becoming less and less popular in us because we are developed nation and 20% of pop. works in primary sector
3b-organic is better for environment and more prone to happening in more developed countries like us.

i hope i didnt completely bomb those essays because im kinda wanting a 5.

How do you remember all of that. I put the same mostly for 3, but not 2. I don’t agree with 1B though.

haha i didnt remember it all. College board posted the frq’s today and it all just kinda came back to me. And i googled that 1b and idk if it is or isnt right?

idk heres the question website

<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;

It really doesn’t sound right to me. But who knows, the book really never talked about each states/region religon.

the Utah/N Arizona region is Mormon. The south was Baptist, I know because they only colored in N. Louisiana and I live there and know that the North LA is Baptist and the south LA is Catholic. The north was Lutheran.

I thought the north was Hutterites because I remember about it was in ND. But I almost put Lutheran.

I knew Baptist because I live in the South and everyone is Baptist. And my teacher made a card on it and the Mormon thing was common sense.

http://strangemaps.files.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/2008/01/churchbodies.gif

religion by county united states

latter day saints is also called mormo

I think it could be Hutterites, I’ve had friends who put the same thing. And it says it in the book and never talked about Lutheran.

^It’s definitely Lutheran

There is no where in the book which says that though. Hutterites is in the book and we talked about it in class. Lutherans are more towards Winsc and Mich. You aren’t even in the clas, btw.
