we read the entire american pageant or at least we were supposed to LOL. I read about 100 pages out of 1100
http://appass.com/calculators/us
This calculator is based on the old exam, but the composite score is about the same
My class had to read Out of Many, which has over 1200 pages…I read them all ;(
Had Form O. Thought I got a 4/5 but after reading the comments here I feel like I got a -4/-5… Why do I always get the harder form???
Hey everyone! Hoped you all did well! But could someone please help me with a dilemma that i’m freaking out about? Before I start, I just wanted to say that I was extremely nervous during the test:
In the SAQ Section, I accidentally wrote my answer for my 3rd short answer in the box for 2nd (which caused me to have to write my 2nd short answer in the 3rd box). Additionally, I wrote " *** Answer for question 3, not 2*** " if it helps. I fear that the CollegeBoard, as a result of the answer being in the wrong place, will immediately count both as 0, making the highest score I can achieve on the section a 50%. Is there anyone I can contact? This is constantly bothering me, as I feel that this could be the difference between be getting a 4 and 5, etc. Thank you to anyone that helps me in any way, shape, or form.
Hope you all got 5’s <3
To calculate your percentage do this:
(w/55)(0.40) + (x/12)(0.20) + (y/7)(0.35) + (z/6)(0.15) where w is your correct in multiple choice; x is your SAQ score; y is your DBQ score; and z is your FRQ score.
Id estimate you’d need a 68% for a 5; 58 for a 4; 45 for a 3.
I wrote about the rise of conservatism pretty generally for my DBQ, referenced a lot of the shortcomings of Carter and LBJ in Vietnam and the OPEC crisis. Pretty confident about my analysis, mentioned the religious right and trickle down Reaganomics. Might be a bit worried about outside examples. I mentioned the Equal Pay Act for women as an aside for the document about the widow complaining to Rockefeller and the energy crisis as the downfall of liberalism, also foreign policy and Reagan’s elimination of the detente policy. For synthesis I talked about the anti-federalists opposing big government & centralized authority. LEQ was a godsend, I studied the Mex-Am war pretty heavily the night before & synthesized with McKinley’s expansionist policies with the Philippines & the Spanish-American War. Also feeling pretty confident on MC, only got one confirmed wrong from what everyone was telling me after but I probably got 1-2 more wrong as well. SAQs could be my downfall, I went way in-depth about Adams/Rush and the Chesapeake/New England Colonies and most likely earned full credit. I misinterpreted the Teddy Roosevelt quote & got two wrong most likely. The Native American question was way out of left field and I focused on the Pacific Northwest with a wet climate and prolific fishing and lumber, Mexico with its vast trade system across the Americas and large civilizations, and the Southwest I mentioned the Pueblo and Anasazi but said something stupid about how wildlife was scarce and they had to eat small animals. Overall I think 52/55 MC, 8/12 SAQ, 7/7 DBQ and 6/6 LEQ
Any feedback on my DBQ or the native SAQs?
Was the neoconservatism DBQ on form O?
I have a problem. For short answer #4 I mentioned how Native Americans mainly hunted and gathering and didn’t farm in the northeast, which is kind of wrong as they did farm but I was able to include the roles of women in the answer. My reasoning was because the New Engalnd colonies didn’t farm so the NA couldn’t farm. So will I lose any points because my answer was kind of wrong?
was it wrong to say that the southwest indians used the 3 crop rotation system and were able to create a civilized city that later on was able to resist the spanish through the pueblo revolt.
@skyisover I mentioned that they could not farm in the NA and that they relied on the trade citing the wampam
@cooldude no, that is correct
Did the spanish have a rigid ? Or was it that they developed populations of ___?
I put the first one but I was so confused on that question idk
@appest3 populations i think
I thought that was super easy- then again, my teacher is Mr. Irish so lol
hello everyone, where can I find the dbq and long essay guidelines for grading.
Seeing everyone’s responses and discussion about the dbq makes me think I didn’t do as good as I thought…i guess because my class got to Reagan and stopped…
@appest3 definitely racial heirarchy
