i think it was former slaves, if u go look at the wikipedia page for back-to-africa movement 2 of the countries were established by former slaves
I thought the DBQ was challenging but doable, however by the time I got a solid foundation for the DBQ in order I realized how little time I had for the long essay and completely winged it. Not even that I thought the long essay was hard but I had so little time that I had to just throw something together that didn’t turn out too great with the periodization in my first paragraph completely off. Hopefully can still get a 4 if all my other components are good which I’m relatively confident that they are.
What were the possible right answers for the short question - two arguments on the red scare one was by Scmidt I believe
@Bodikbodik Did you have form O?
What did you guys put for the short answer about Adams’ and Rush’s interpretation of the revolution and war? I put Adams thought the war was merely an after effect of any already ongoing movement and Rush thought the war was the first step and catalyst towards creating the us gov.
While most people viewed the DBQ as challenging, I would have to say that the prompt wasn’t challenging but more illogical and a bad choice of prompt. Out of all of the crucial movements articulated in the framework, the fact that they chose one on neoconservatism is practically illogical in my opinion.
So, I have yet to meet anyone that got the same DBQ as me. No one in my entire grade got a DBQ on environmental policies in the 1950-80s. And so far, no one on collidge confidential. I think I was form M, but I might be mistaken. Did anyone get this DBQ? Did you totally freak out like I did? I pretty much studied everything in US history except for environmental policies, because my teacher said that there would never be any questions on it. What did you guys think? AHHH
Can we all agree that the multiple choice was way too subjective?
YEAH @1golfer1 it was also a lot more reading comprehension than understanding history. i want the old format
For anne hutchinson I put (I believe) something about women having more of a say in government through education, the second answer had to be abolitionists in the 1840s and 50s because you have to remember that this was around the time of Seneca Falls and more women getting involved in Temperance and Abolition because of religious reasonsn, leading to the third answer, 2nd Great awakening
I don’t think any of the questions on Form O should be thrown out, especially question #55. The populist movement was the only targeted answer out of the four that made sense. I had it narrowed down to Progressives and Populists but the Progressives included leaders like Teddy Roosevelt that didn’t go all out on social welfare. Also a careful reading of the answer choices in the section about the Populist cartoon would’ve revealed their desire for redistribution of wealth (the question that asked what the cartoonist would’ve agreed with, one of the wrong answerswas ‘redistribution of wealth’ since he was pro business)
I’m glad that was over. Overall, the test was pretty easy for me. I was more than satisfied with my essay prompts; they were the easiest topics I’ve ever seen.
Really really surprised at how easy that test was. Only part I was iffy about was the multiple choice, but other than that, I don’t want to jinx it, I think I could have gotten 100%. But yeah, I do think that there was way too much time for the SAQs and not enough for the essays. Overall though, really really easy for a first year test
Although I didn’t write on this topic, I’m just wondering: what would you guys have put for a continuity for the French and Indian War (Question 2)?
@basketball135 I don’t think it was that much reading comprehension. I am flat out terrible at reading comprehension (560 on SAT Critical Reading and 22 on ACT Reading) but I would score over 80% on practice MC tests my teacher would give us and wouldn’t be surprised if I got 50+/55 on this.
@valedictoriangod I said that the French and Indian War didn’t real change social status of any groups within the colonies. (Because my groupings were Social, Political and Economic) and that the only real change was that tensions between Loyalists and Patriots came to rise and that British soldiers sent over were often resented. I kind of BS’d my FRQ though.
@basketball135 I had form M, same DBQ
The environment DBQ was kinda ridiculous…I would think most people would have no outside knowledge on the subject, I know I didn’t. But the sources were relatively easy to use. The third short answer (rise of evangelical political societies) was hard…
@RHSclassof16 I was thinking about something similar to that, like class distinctions/gender roles, but I though it was asking specifically for continuity regarding America’s relationship with Britain? Idk I could have read it wrong
@valedictoriangod Idk I don’t think I did good on my long essay. Hopefully I get at least a 4 on this.
The short answer was hard in general. Maybe because I didn’t really review at all and kind of just winged this test but still I’m not sure reviewing would have helped me that much for some of them.
