***AP U.S. HISTORY 2015***

@suprstar16 my teacher says at the ap meetings with collegeboard they have been under the impression that you need 1 outside info per paragraph.

@alldaboston ok i think i had at least one piece of outside info, not much tho since my class didn’t cover that topic on the dbq

For the question about Garvey did you guys put the answer about Malcolm X

@Gatortristan yes, i think so. only because i remembered a rap lyric where both names were said consecutively

Lol I remembered to put Yellowstone national park for the SAQ because of Yogi Bear and his movie lol

@fireonice Honestly I had plenty of outside information. Some didn’t even have to do with the environment.

Like one of the documents was about not believing all the doomsday claims so when analyzing that document I used the whole apocalypse thing on December 21st, 2012 (the end of the Mayan calendar) to show that doomsday claims have been made for years. This backed up the author of the document’s sentiments about how sometimes they shouldn’t trust these claims.

Other outside info I used was consumerism + baby boomer generation + the rise of suburbia. Also for another I brought up the whole national vs state argument with Federalist vs Anti-Federalists. Another was about the BP oil spill. Another was about the glacier ice caps melting + endangering polar bears + etc.

Same I put outside info up the butt haha. I used counter culture, great society(medicare/aid), Yuppies, Kent State, Stonewall Rebellion, etc. I nailed the DBQ and the LAQ.

if you completely failed the DBQ is it still possible to get a 4 or 5? i had no idea what conservatism was so i completely bsed the DBQ… feeling like crap rn…

@tjgirl123 i know how you feel. I did the same thing! like i had no idea what it was so i didn’t have that much outside info

Ok my predictions: 40-45/55, 8/12, 5/7, 5/6. Wonder if that’s good enough for a 5?

Honestly not sure what to think of the new test. On all the practice MC tests I’ve taken (CB released, Barrons, etc) I’ve scored between 80% and 90%, which is pretty solid for a 5… I feel like the actual test’s MC was the hardest I’ve EVER taken though, it’s making me really worried. I marked like 10 questions that I was unsure about. Aside from that, I felt like my SAQs were EXTREMELY easy and there was tons of outside evidence to pull in, DBQ was also pretty easy with good synthesis, context, and outside info, and LEQ was not bad but my synthesis was very vague so I might not get the point for it.

I’m just really worried about my MC score. Assuming the absolute worst, I probably got 35/55 MC (cringes), 11/12 SAQ, 7/7 DBQ, 4/6 LEQ. Do you guys think this would still be a 5?

@cooldude1098 It might be the Harlem Renaissance, I just didn’t know. I felt like the Harlem Renaissance was more of an art and intellectual movement, but I dont know.

idk what question you guys are talking about but Harlem Renaissance was more about black expression through the arts. It didn’t really have anything with the Back To Africa movement. I don’t think you could truly connect Garvey to it.

I love how the same people visit the same forums…Like I have noticed 5 of you guys from either SAT, ACT, or other AP subjects :stuck_out_tongue:

@Chrysanthemum14 I agree. I dont think it was the Harlem Renaissance.

yeah it couldn’t have been the Harlem Renaissance because the source came from 1920 or 1921 and the Harlem Renaissance wasn’t until the 1925s.

Was the Populist’s cartoon people who wanted more government involvement? And did the cartoonist favor more big businesses because he was criticizing the populists??

Did any of you have the cartoon of people forcing slaves down the Free Soil Party’s throat? That was definitely the most confusing set of MC questions for me.

whats the difference between a score of 3, 4, and 5?
Like how many points off?
My scenario is this for worst possible grade:
35/55 8-9/12 dbq 4/7 frq 5/6
