AP United States Educational Game!!!

Did W.E.B Du Bois preach black separatism or integration?

crazy abolotionist who attempted to lead a slave resurrection and failed. killed many whites jailed. killed. He also lead the pottawatomi massacre to discourage supporters of slavery from entering kansas

Du Bois: He seemed to be more in favor of "excelling" in education, and well if you don't mind me saying so, beating the white people at their own game I suppose.
Booker T. Washington:He wanted "integration." To just gain the respect of the whites by suceeded in the workforce. etc.

integration, higher education, immediate restoration of their civil rights

Q:What was the Webster-Ashburton Treaty? (fairly easy).

What was Andrew Johnson plan for reconstruction and what was a unique (not necessarily good unique) thing about it?

deboi actually accused Washington in his novel of encouraging segregation. he wanted to eliminate prejucdice and injustice no exceptions

No, User_Name. Way off. I think you're alluding to John Brown. Oh, sorry--thought you were talking about Du Bois.

Debois was also the prominant African American to criticize marcus Garvey.

wow... I really can't spell "Du Bois"

Describe the impeachment crisis that occurred when Congress tried to remove Johnson from office. How did they attempt to remove him? (maybe unconstitutionally)

YAY! User_name please dethrone me!

Well I can't really do this stuff until later tonight but HI AND GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! =)

nope its right here in my book pg 593 brinkly allan

"DuBois unlike Washington had never known slavery. Born in mass.....he grew to maturity wit ha more expansive view than Washingotn of th goasls of his race and teh resposibilities of white socotye to elimonate prejucdice and injustice. In the souls of black folk (1903) he launched an open attack on the philosophy of the atlanta compromise accusing wahinsgton of encouraging white efforts to impose segreagation and of unnecessarily limiting the aspiration of his race. ... it goes on with a quote.

Sorry Sozo, there's a person called Zoso on this forum I visit of a favorite drummer of mine (Mike Portnoy).....

Ok John Brown was involved with Bleeding Kansas and another famous raid, don't remember it...

Webster Ashburton treaty was a treaty between Britain and US that HAD A LOT OF PROVISIONS. I know one important one was that the US and GB would put ships on the coast of Africa to prevent illegal smuggling of slaves. It also settled some boundaries.

Du Bois opposed Garvey.

But who was the dude that wanted African Americans to go back to Africa?? Was it Garrison?

The guy that wanted African Americans to go back to Africa was Garvey too, I think

What was the New South Creed and who coined that term?

not garrison he greatly critized advocates of colonialization

Webster-Ashburton Treaty: It was basically the negotiation between the greatest Us orator Daniel Webster and Britain. In the treaty, the United States and Britain developed the border between Maine and Canada. The Treaty also discussed the territory in northern Minnesota. Furhtermore, the treaty also mentioned the "integration" of the Oregon region between the US and Britain. Eventually, we had more people--and that led to Polk's "54 40 or Fight!"

Who was Toisant L'Overture? Why was he quintessential in shaping America (literally)? (simple)

gotta do hmk...bye

Ooo, nice: 54 40 or fight!
I love that quote...but the slave thing was an important part of it too... i think i saw that question in an AP exam prep question.

So, not garrison?
