Several of the MC questions were word for word practice questions from either the Princeton Review book or from practice tests I did in class, which I found strange, but it makes sense if the College Board reuses questions.
very easy
Did the question close to the end of the mcq ask about the courtcase that overturned the Plessy vs Ferguson case? @Coldsummer123 @gonewiththeair
@YoohooAddict You’re not supposed to talk about MCQs… but yes. I think it was around #59 or so?
Also guys, my friend who took AP Gov last year said the curve was 93/120. That’s a 77.5%. WE OUT HERE FAM
@thisisfine2020 Yea… I was just making sure cuz my friends put plessy as the answer and I put brown v board. Damn that curve is hella harsh lol.
@YoohooAddict You read the question wrong then. The question asked: “What court case UPHELD the doctrine of separate but equal?” (iirc). So the answer is Plessy. Brown v. Board OVERTURNED “separate but equal.”
Also, given how easy the test was, that’s a very decent curve.
I thought it said overturned @thisisfine2020
Post-test reflection:
MC: -10 to 12 max. I WAS ASKED HARDER QUESTIONS FOR INCLASS QUIZZES.
FRQ 1: Answers were slightly vague… but I think I got to the point.
FRQ 2: I hope they don’t find me racist…
FRQ 3: I knew everything besides the roles of the two bodies, but I think I was right (for the most part, but I was very vague lol…)
FRQ 4: I wrote like an essay for part a so if I don’t get full score on this imma be pretty mad let’s be real.
Overall: 25-40% for a 4, 60-75% for a 5.
@thisisfine2020 Does the use of iron trianges count as a way interest groups influence elections?
@YoohooAddict If all of your friends, me, and three other of my friends read it as “upheld”, then who’s right here? I actually read that exact question a couple times because it caught me off guard too. We shouldn’t talk about FRQs in specific before they are released. That’s against CB rules, and CC has gotten into a lot of trouble with CB before.
That test was easier than I thought it would be…and probably the easiest AP test I’ve ever taken (behind Psych)
What did you guys write for the question about specific actions the president can take to respond to the demographic changes?
@tiaren14 I forgot the second action, but for the first one I put that the president can appoint more people from these rising minority groups to offices/positions
@tiaren14 I put he can appeal more to the minority groups. I was like he can make advertisements that are directed specifically towards them and stuff like dat. Second one I put was he can go out to them and communicate and socialize with them to increase their support of him.
i said he can veto bills against them, he can address congress in the state of the union urging them to help them, he can have a congressperson introduce new bills…
what were the two strategies interest groups use to influence the elections? i hope what i said makes sense
There are multiple answers but the two strategies I wrote about are canvassing and campaign donations.
@tiaren14 @BobSagets I put PACs and Iron Triangles.
Which review books did you find to be the most efficient now that you have all taken the exam? I will be self-studying this course next year taking an honors gov & politics class.
