Could any of u guys do a curve prediction who got scores. Like what do u think it took to get a 5?
My son’s report says Code 83 - score delayed - will publish as soon as available - or something to that effect. No issues were reported the day he tested but he does get some accommodations so maybe it will take a little longer to score? Hopefully the delay won’t be too long.
Huge congrats to all who are happy with their scores - what a tough course & exam APUSH is!!
@markj4994 Pretty friggin high honestly. Everyone - on CC and in real life - said that the test was easy. There were a lot of surprise 4s and even surprise 3s from people that thought they aced it… not very many the other way around. Last year I believe the cutoff was 74%. It is probably something like 2-3% higher this year so 77% is my guess.
Got a 5!!! WOO!!
For those of you who have gotten high scores, would you mind sharing any tips? I have started a thread for apush 2016-2017 similar to this one.
Took took this class as a sophomore along with 3 other APs that I got all 5s on. My teacher honestly did nothing other than give us packets to take notes on from American Pageant and occasional lectures. Make sure to read the entire textbook thoroughly and take notes. Reread/skim before tests. Focus on periods that make up the bulk of the exam. Since I took 3 other courses I started review in March (during spring break), so start review early. I used CC, Adam Norris Videos, and a little bit out of the Princeton book. But Adam Norris is probably why I did so well. I heard that Gilder Lehrman for APUSH is a good resource too! If you put in in the work you’ll do great! Good luck!
I got a 5!
Didn’t learn anything the whole year and crammed 3 weeks prior to the exam and pulled a 4 lol.
I cannot believe it. I got a 4 after all those countless hours of preparation. Going to ask for a rescore
I’m in disbelief that I got a 5. I guess it helps that I had a teacher that was an awesome lecturer and helped us review, but aside from that I only crammed a week before the test. Also, I totally blanked out on the LEQ and my DBQ was a total mess that didn’t argue anything. It was basically rambling with no sense. However, I think I did really well on my multiple choice and short answers though.
As for advice/study materials, the Kaplan book was really helpful but left out a lot of details. Basically, just do your work and try your hardest in class, and make sure to READ your textbook.
My school didn’t even provide us with a textbook. I bought the Barron’s review book and crammed that.
Got a 5! Pretty surprised since everyone thought it was so easy but I’m very happy!
I got a 5, I didn’t even study that much. Like I only read the textbook and forgot 75% of it. And then for dumb physics studied my ass off and got a 3
Got a 5. Just go through the Princeton Review book.
Got a 4 as a sophomore after getting a 5 on world as a freshmen. Ugh.
Will this hurt my chances of admission at a school like dartmouth as i went down over time or do they mostly care about sat (currently studying to try to get 1500+ in october) and gpa?
@RiceEater108 That’s exactly me except with Chemistry instead of Physics =))
@markj4994 The 4 won’t hurt your chance at admissions at all. The only time AP scores could really affect you is if your AP score is vastly different from your grade in the AP class.
I was the only one in my school who took the test, though
The test isn’t graded on a curve,
I took a regular US history class, not AP, and somehow got a 5. I Just read through REA Crash Course AP US History the day before the test and I was set. I would highly recommend that book-it’s concise (only like 200 pages) and it only covers what you need to know and not a bunch of details that you don’t.
I got a 4! I think I was one of the few people on thia site who actually found the test hard. I had only been cauntiously optimistic to even get a three! Honestly my score is thanks to Adam Norris videos and my school who shelved out and bought learnerator about a month before the test.
