Honestly, whats the difference...?
I have lived in a school district where they offered IB, but I moved to another district right before high school and I am now currently loaded with AP's. When I talk with my old friends that are taking IB, they tell me it is way harder and colleges favor IB over AP. Is this true? A friend of mine that is currently in IB Chemistry told me that she was on "chemical nomenclature" and I'm in AP Chemistry and we are WAYYYY ahead of that. I'm really confused about the differences between IB and AP. Also, is IB for select classes like AP's (ex. AP Chem, AP Bio, APUSH) or can someone ONLY have a "fixed" IB schedule?

bump! bump bump

I don’t think colleges care all that much about which one you take.

There has been much discussion on the topic, but I don’t blame you for starting a new thread on it, info’s not that clear. It all comes down to your opinion I guess. I’d choose the IB over AP any day, but that’s because I think the TOK is really great. It’s up to you, and what you’re looking for in your HS programme. Also, you take most of your IB classes at a level that you choose, High level, Standard level, A1/A2/B for languages, just to name a few. For more info I suggest you search the forums for “ib vs ap”, there’s more than one thread on here. =)

Thank you for your response!
