IMHO i felt that taking full ib diploma (with 4 hls) was much easier than taking 4 aps (calc bc physics b spanish and ap euro) although i was self studying for euro and physics.IAs aren’t particularly difficult once you get the formatting down and what not. We jokingly call TOK TOBS at our school simply because our teacher isnt the greatest lecturer on the planet and is quite boring. However IB has a much higher emphasis on writing especially in the sciences. The lab reports that you do in an ap class cant even compare to the lab reports you’d write in an IB class.EE once you sit down and start cranking it out isnt too big a problem (4000 words is like what 8 pages double spaced?) my friend even did hers in one night and passed. Most students who are trying to go for a competitive school will already be on track to finish their CAS anyway and probably wont have to go out of their way to do anything new. However if you’re shooting to save money/grad in 3 years and get loads of college credit AP is definately superior in that regard.

I also feel that IB students tend to feel suprierior than AP students simply because they’re in IB. I feel that IB does a remarkably good job in marketing the program.
