So I'm an entering freshman this year at UNC, and I got credit from the AP World exam by getting a four. Now on the site it says that I'm getting credit for a history elective. How does that work? Do they just give me hours and that's it or do they give me credit for a class of my choosing? I'm currently trying to figure out what geneds I need to knock out and the credit for World could save me from taking another SS or HS class and complete that Gened. Anyone know how the credit for AP World works?

The AP credit table on UNC web site lists the courses you get credit for. So you can consider those courses completed based on your AP subject and score

It will show up on your transcript as a 3 credit Hist general elective via BE (by exam). Basically it will fulfill a Hist Analysis (HS) in Approaches and perhaps also a Connection BN.

Check your Tar Heel Tracker in Connect Carolina. That should tell you what gen eds are fulfilled once your test scores and BE credits are posted.
