thanks !!!

Now that I’m done with Cal AB, I have time to cram for World History. I’ll probably read through the Unit summaries, and take a practice test Saturday. I took the first one in the Barron’s and had a 93/120 (grading the FRQ harshly), but I’d like to have that at >100.

Same situation here!! I’m so unprepared for FRQs and have no experience at all, so I’m gonna take some practice tests this weekend.

So anybody have Barron practice test (maybe scanned version?) I only bought PR but I want to try more practice tests?

[AP: World History](<a href=“AP World History: Modern Exam – AP Students | College Board”>AP World History: Modern Exam – AP Students | College Board) Practice free response, and a few multiple choice.

I’m can trade APES tests for APWH ones. PM me. Anyways anyone who receives APWH tests should definitely return the favor and give them to everyone who asks for them in this thread.

Any tips on FRQ & DBQ? I’m really nervous about them since I’m a self-studier. I really need a lot of tips, and I’m cramming right now since I’m scared that a topic that I have no idea about might appear on the essay.

I second that, DBQs for APWH are really different from APUS and I have no idea how to respond to the prompts for them.

How long should our essays be? I have a problem of being too thorough and then having to rush at the very end.

Approximately, what score for the mc and frq do i need to get to earn a 5?

ill delete them after ap exams are over.

I am cramming right now. Seriously, I had a bas teacher and ughh… I hate her. But I am reading Kaplan and 5 steps to a 5. So I hopduce it helps. Im scared for FRQ.

Same here, although I don’t even have a teacher, now I need a LOT LOT LOT of tips on FRQ, I am really bad at DBQ (especially the thesis), so anybody here in a real APWH class, throw in some tips, predictions, resources… everything. Thanks :)

thank you so much monarchy… I really appreciate it

Does anyone know about how many points out of 120 is needed to get a 5? If it varies by year, what would it be for the average year?
Also, if I get about 80% of the multiple choice qs right, how high would my essays have to be?

@Missfloratang - I am happy to see that I am not the only one in this position. Although in a bad situation but joyed a bit.
The DBQ’s are also the ones I am scared about cause I average on them. I wish there was a standard way to write. But I would think practice.

I am seriously freaking out over these exams. My teacher is AWFUL and so far, I’ve learned EVERYTHING from either the textbook or the Princeton Review study guide. I’ve read through about 60% of Stearn’s World History book and all the review stuff on PR. I just took a practice test today in class (with guys screaming and laughing the first 10 minutes cause they didn’t know it was a grade… *******s). I ended up with 52/70 correct which is about 74%. Decent enough for a 4 (maybe?) but probably not good enough for a 5.

Next week, I’m staying after school for an hour everyday to review with another teacher. I will read over PR again to get ready and also look through some notes. I’m taking another practice exam on Sunday to get a feel for time, pace, etc. And will probably do more drills on the essay part.

The day before the exam, a friend and I are reviewing, going over notes, etc. But I’m not gonna overdo it.

Hopefully it all goes well and I get my 5!!! Any more ideas?

I took this class last year, and by the looks of things, you should hopefully all be fine.
Two suggestions that helped me get a 5 without reading the textbook (ours had just too much info if you ask me.)
- I really like the princeton review, it helped me a lot. I read most of it and it really helped.
- If you are stuck, like get an essay topic you don’t know, you probably know more than you think. If worst comes to worse, make inferences and use your common sense.

Good Luck to you all!
Hope I helped.

So I got a 62/70 without studying at all for this and I’m a self-studier.

Is this good enough for a 5 as long as I can scrape by with a few mediocre essays?

Radioheadbro, you’ll need to have a 4/9 on each essay to have a 5 with a few points to spare. Find a DBQ scoring rubric, study it, and you should get at least a 6/9.
