Hi, I am planning to purchase AP World History prep book that is very detailed like a textbook? Can you recommend me one?

PR book is okay, I never used it though. I used the Kaplan prep book, the content was fine but the practice exams were too easy.

However, a prep book isn’t made to be “very detailed like a textbook”. Unless you have a textbook, you should get one because you’ll need it for the FRQs. PM me if you want a online version of a AP World textbook.

My classmates say that Barron’s is pretty detailed for WH. Even then, it is no substitute for an actual textbook. Personally I use PR, which is quite general but does a great job identifying patterns and trends.

Barron’s was the most detailed review book I came across for AP World History (which I took last year). When it came time to prepare for the exam, in fact, it was too detailed so I had to find a condensed alternative, which ended up being 5 Steps to a 5 (which sucked).
