@Darknezzerat You were supposed to compare and contrast the CAUSES of two of the revolutions, not the revolutions themselves. A lot of people like me didn’t read very closely and instead compared and contrasted the revolutions in general.
This is random, but it’s OK if I did the questions out of order so long as I labeled them, right?
@lollypip Yeah.
I was just wondering if saying something increased trade would be considered an economic change, or would I have had to specifically say that increased trade would mean better economies for the people involved. For Example if I said new technology increased trade, and that was it. Would this be counted as an economic change?
@Failedit12309876 Yeah, I think you’re good because it’s still related to economics. Economics is a pretty broad topic, so there are numerous possibilities for what you could say.
The multiple choice I thought was really easy; I think I got, at the lowest, a 55/70.
I thought I did the FRQ’s and the DBQ correctly, but now I am doubting myself.
I may or may not have put these answers, would they be okay?
DBQ: 1. Political subjugation of Women 2. Opposition to political subjugation 3. Desire for more political rights
I tried my hardest to keep it to the prompt, but do you think these grouping are okay?
CCOT: Changes: Western European feudalism took them out of the Afro-Eurasian economy, the adoption of new technologies which lead to the Indian Ocean Trade Network, and the Mongol reinvigoration of trade routes. Continuities: Usage of the Silk Road, usage of religion to improve economic ties, and slave trade.
CC: Similarities- Enlightenment principles and male-dominated revolution.
Differences: Haiti was a slave revolt, constitutional vs. humanitarian, and the leaders who actually caused the rebellion.
Can I still get a 5? I tried to put extra stuff so if one was wrong, I could at least have 3 points for each of the FRQ’s.
Were my points acceptable? If not, since I did 6 points for the CCOT and 5 for the CC, are 3 of them still acceptable?
Thanks!
my CCOT was almost the same as yours @MattyCRaps
For the comparative essay, I had a total of four comparisons, but I only had one similarity and one difference for the causes of the revolutions. The other two were about the results. My relevant similarity was that both the French and American Revolutions were inspired by Enlightenment ideals, and my difference was that America wanted to break away, while the French wanted to overthrow the ancien regime. Is it ok if had two out of four comparisons that were relevant to the prompt?
For the ccot essay, my continuity was that religion spread with the help of merchants along trade routes, and my change was that new civilizations emerged along the trade routes, and became wealthy. How much will I be penalized for my continuty?
They might not give you the point.
The only essay I’m iffy about is the DBQ. I went over the time limit I set for myself and didn’t know if I’d be able to finish all of the essays.
DBQ:
-Grouping 1: Women changing politics by participating in nationalist movements
-Grouping 2: Women changing politics by actively challenging social expectations
-Grouping 3: Women directly using politics to give themselves political rights
CCOT:
Pretty much a brain dump of all the economic changes I could remember during the time period chronologically. I put a paragraph with 2 continuities at the end (Indian Ocean prosperity and Islamic Empire Wealth b/c of Geography) Also tried to talk about Silk Road, Indian Ocean, and Trans-Saharan.
C/C:
(France and USA)
Could have really f’d this one up because I didn’t read the word causes. When I checked over my essays and realized this, there were only 10 mins left! Luckily, 2 of my of my paragraphs already dealt with this. Had to change the 3rd because it involved what happened after.
- Inspired by Enlightenment Mov’t
- Both angry b/c of lack of representation (Parliament giving no colonists representation and the General Assembly not giving the 3rd estate majority when they were most of the pop.)
- Groups who started the revolution. Rich, white, landowners in America and Peasants in France.
Love your C&C groupings…
@GoldenHorde Ok… :-/ Just wanted feedback on if I did the essays right.
Hello Everyone,
I am most worried about the CCOT. The DBQ and CC went well for me, since I was very prepared for them. I also prepared alot outside. Like, I think I probably did well on the CCOT, but I’m just not feeling good about it.
I talked about new technologies facilitating faster trade and the transportation of goods through the Indian Ocean, in turn contributing to stronger and more stable economies in the region.
In addition, I talked for continuity about how the items that were exchanged on trade routes remained the same, thus highlighting the fact that certain historical processes remained unchanged: the constant desire for spices, for example. In addition, I wrote about how the spread of religion, as seen in conversions to Islam in Asia, enabled a common cultural bond, and as a result, fostered extensive economic interactions.
I also had another continuity: the continuation of overland trade routes. The Silk Roads was primarily an overland trade route, and its continued usage indicates that many societies in the Afro-Eurasian area were still linked by pre-existing routes, and through these interactions, could still thrive economically.
My last continuity is the one in which I think I had the least evidence to support. Will this be a major problem? I know I have approximately 9 or 10 pieces of evidence totally in my essay. In short, I am most confident with my first two changes and continuities.
Please provide your input.
Thanks so much in advance!
@Hamlon but two of the dovs were men saying women didn’t deserve rights?
guys i have a question i’m not sure if i got a point for global context in the CCOT because i put Africa had increased interaction with other societies in the Afro-Eurasian area helping it get involved in trade with countries such as china, Chinese luxury goods for Zimbabwe gold for example this eventually helped lead to Africa becoming a global powerhouse economically by having a very valuable good slaves leading to the Atlantic slave trade which wasn’t part of this period any feedback people
I slaughtered the DBQ and the CC, but I’m afraid I screwed up the CCOT…
Basically, I wrote about how the use of specialized port cities(continuity) and innovations in technology(change) contributed to wealth throughout Afro- eurasia, but I did say Goa was in Southeast Asia… whoops
My third paragraph was about how trade affected local economies and made them grow significantly(banking, insurance, etc). My main concern was pretty much that my topics weren’t directly economic factors, but they were about things that had a big impact on it (eg: technology is supposed to be culture, but i tied it into the economy somehow?)
anyone want to comment
@BucketsUCSC usually global context is before the time period given or in the time period but in a different region
yeah i messed up i should have talked about mesoamerica
for global context on the CCOT, I talked about the Black Death. Does that count?
