***AP World History Thread 2015-2016***

@ming3282 and @TP2000 where did u find these recent practice tests? My teacher couldn’t find any released exams, are they online?

SOO the exam is tomorrow, and I’m freaking out, because Barrons and Princeton have conflicting information.

Barrons says the Chinese junk and lateen sail was invented in the Classical Era.
Princeton says they were invented in the postclssical, which is also what my teacher told us.

Which ones right?? I am really freaking out here. PLEASE HELP. I know, they’re just little things, but stuff like this means they probably have other stuff wrong too.

I’m glad to see other people stayed home from school to study, lmao.

@lollypip it was during the postclassical

Gah, I can’t believe that it’s tomorrow!

According to this calculator (http://appass.com/calculators/world?curve=2007; based on past exam mresults), a 40/70 on multiple choice and all 5s on the essays is a 4, so there’s still hope.

@ML2050 You do realize how hard it is to get 5s on all of them right without any prior knowledge?

GUYS! I NEED HELP!
Say for example I get a questions for the Free Response Questions where I don’t know the answer, what can I do to get the most points?

Mine is a sophomore class taking the exam tomorrow!!!

And I’m in GA and my friend is FL (also sophomore) has it too

If you google “ACE Practice Tests for The Earth and its People” you will find great practice tests! They’re categorized by chapter and are completely online for the lazy kids like me who hate using PDFs to take practice tests. The questions are also pretty specific IMO and therefore can help to supplement the essays! And of course there’s an explanation for every question you miss.

I wasted all this time even trying to study for this exam, i knew i can’t cram everything in a week with all this IB stuff

@bitWIDGET: Try to write a thesis. That’s one point. For a DBQ, you will be able to find at least 2 groups. Leave space after the thesis, to squeee in extra groupings you come up with aong the way. Another point is the point of view, as long as you can understand a couple docs, you can see their bias without even understading its connection to other docs. For the additional doc, find a point of view on one side, say a scientist in Russia, that isn’t present on the other side, say America. There you go! And you’ll probably get 1 point on one of your groupings, so now you have 4 points. Does this help?

Sorry I have tons of typos

I mean, I can do the DBQ, but what about the 2nd and 3rd questions?

Trick is to get points!!! These essays aren’t like lang where you need to have it flowy and well connected (unless you want perfect scores on all your essays). When in doubt, shoot for points. Get a thesis for all three questions even if you dont know what its saying to get one point. Drop in whatever dates or facts you know to get another point or two. Maximize your points based off the rubric.

If you’re getting a 40/70 on the MC, you most likely have far too little factual information to be able to get past 3 points maximum on the last two essays.
DBQ should be an easy seven.

Happy cramming!

Hey guys, all FRQs have had one Post-Classical prompt, or so my teacher tells me. Just spreadin’ the word, study up on Muslim Mongols etc

Good luck on the exam tomorrow guys. If you’re cramming good luck. I didn’t do that though it doesn’t work for me. Get enough sleep, eat a good breakfast and I just wanted to wish you all good luck. You guys got this and you all are smart…I mean…otherwise you wouldn’t be in AP right?

Don’t worry guys, you’ve got this. I took it last year and I got a 5. As long as you know the key concepts and historical significance of some terms, you should be perfectly fine.

Also, don’t forget to mention POV and audience in your DBQ!
