I’m really worried about the World History Exam cause my teacher is a total lunatic…
Also our textbook (Bullier’s or something like that) is REALLLY BOOORING!!!
So I was wondering which prep book I should use to prepare for the exam…

Okay this exact same thing happened to me my sophomore year. We pretty much learned nothing and did not write one AP style essay throughout the entire course. I bought The Princeton Review book for AP World and about two or three weeks before the test I started studying directly from that book and ended up getting a 5. If you devote enough time to studying especially from that book (in my personal experience at least) you will do fine. Good luck!

I had an extremely boring textbook (Bentley) and an even worse teacher whose method of teaching was assigning long, boring primary source documents and tons of worksheets and vocabulary. I didn’t learn much from her, so I took it upon myself to take advantage of the Barron’s APWH prep book (which is almost as detailed as a text book) and force myself to read the boring textbook.

I got a 4.

Ty for the fast replies!!
It always comes down to Barron’s or Princeton…
So do you guys believe Princeton is easier to read?

My teacher is the cool kind but dosen’t teach much as how much is in the class.

I used Princeton and it’s very helpful. Big details are focused on more than small ones. Also, the language style of it is very relaxed and makes you feel better about learning so much info.

I got a 5.

I had the SAME issue last year. I agree with the Princeton, but I have also heard really good things about the McGraw Hill.
One thing I found to be VERY helpful, is the Barron’s flash cards. They are extremely detailed and helped a lot with the areas that my teacher was just too bad to cover.
And don’t let people fool you, SparkNotes’ AP power pack is nowhere near the level of PR or the Barron’s flash cards.

My teacher is mediocre (I’ve heard that as the year proceeds, he gets terrible, but he vowed to not do that this year). I have a Barron’s and a Peterson’s, so which will help more, or should I do both?

My teacher is okay. People like him but I don’t like his teaching style. He leaves a lot of notes but doesn’t lecture. I prefer a combination of both to be honest. That’s for another time.

Right now I’m following along with 5 Steps to a 5 and it satisfies the tests very nicely so far. Sometimes the chapters don’t correlate, but most of the time they do (Islam, for example).

I haven’t tried out the other books, but I think 5 Steps (McGraw Hill) is really good for my purposes (also for yours since you also have a book).

I HATE my AP World teacher…She is a total lunatic. I don’t learn anything from that class. But I hop I can still take the exam.
