Apathy Towards School

I have started to not care about school. Like the last competitions were yesterday so now I feel like I have finished everything, and I will not try to do well in school. Also I've been having a very bad attitude towards school. I will have thoughts like "Why does this matter? Why do I care? This is stupid" when learning about the anatomy of a frog or what really happened in the Gulf of Tonkin. I mean, Who cares? Why do I need to know this? Teachers keep trying to make me learn things I don't want to know and they keep wasting my time by giving me homework. School is boring and a waste of time. I have to time to really think about things. I don't want all this useless knowledge in my head. Is this a bad attitude to have? What should I do?

That’s totally how I feel right now…but I think the overall effect of not caring could have on my future snaps me out of it for at least two assignments.

Yeah, you sound like the average high school student.

Yes, this is a bad attitude to have. But like everyone else has said, this is pretty much every high schooler’s attitude at the moment (well, hopefully only at the moment). I usually care (enough) about school, but the couple of months are usually pretty unbearable.

It’s called pre-senioritis

Pffft I’ve had senioritis since freshman year…

Those seem like very reasonable questions. why do you think you are thinking those things now?

^I can never tell if you’re trying to debate people or diagnose them.

Because life’s unfair… nah, man, just kidding.

We’re all just tired of the same thing and everyone else around us is tired of the same thing and then we all talk about how tired of it we all are, which in turn, makes us even more tired of it. It’s this everlasting spiral.

but seriously, I went up to my math teacher (cuz she’s cool and all) the other day and asked her, why would I care about the probability of it going to rain and if I will win the soccer game. It’s life, take it by chance.

She laughed
