App. Calculus 121 and Prof. Wishne

I hadn't been able to get into an Applied Calculus #121 class, however, I've been stalking ISIS and today I got into Calder Wishne's class.
I found one review on him and it is awful. Anyone heard of him?

I tested out of 121 and 131 with AP credit and really don't want to take these courses. However, people on the pre-med site say that for pre-med requirement fulfillment (at med-schools requiring a year of college calculus), AP credit doesn't count. It seems like if my 5 is good enough for a school like UVA to give me credit, then it should count for med-school pre-requisites too.

I'd love some input or advice on this. Thanks. Also if you've heard of this Calder Wishne guy for App. Calc. 121 I'd appreciate it.

I think med schools may accept it, but they would prefer you to take the college courses.

Honestly, it's freaking Calc121, so it doesn't matter who you get (all sections take the same exams). If you got a 5 on the AP exam, you probably won't even need to go to class to do well. Just think of these as easy, free As that allow you to focus more on your other classes and help your GPA towards med school.

Personally, I don't think that the people posting on the pre-med site are totally informed. Harvard, for instance, clearly say that they accept AP credit. I'm not saying that I'm gunning for Harvard, it's just a school that clearly addresses AP credit in their application process.
