<p>Congratulations to those who’ve received the invitation to Scholarship Day at App! S2 was admitted to the Appalachian’s Honors College during December - actually received that letter prior to the acceptance letter. We live close by (a little over an hour away), but nothing in the mail as of yet as far as Scholarship Day goes :(. We’ve been checking the myApp portal as well and haven’t noticed any changes. We will be hopefully waiting to hear something!!!</p>

<p>Does anyone have an idea about tentative stats of people who are usually awarded Wilson Scholars? </p>
<p>Seeing that this is the first year for this scholarship, I assume they don’t have any stats. I suspect the students who will be selected will be just as strong as the Chancellor Scholars plus some. It is a great program that I hope to be considered for.</p>

<p>Found out from ASU that about 250 students receive invites to Scholars Day. I assume not everyone invited will attend because they have committed themselves to another college, but this # was higher than I thought it would be. To interview that many people in about 4 hours will be impressive to see.</p>
<p>I saw on the Facebook page for the Class of 2018 a discussion about invitations for the Chancellors/Wilson scholarship reception. Anyone on here receive this invite? I didn’t and am heartbroken. Hoping everyone hasn’t been invited and I still have a chance. </p>
<p>Just surprised it went out by email. I haven’t received anything from Appalachian through email- all notifications have been through snail mail.</p>
<p>My son never received an invitation in the mail, nor an e-mail. However, someone from admissions called and left a message in regards to Scholars Day. We called back and the admissions lady wanted to confirm that he was coming, so we confirmed!</p>

<p>Scholars Day was yesterday. Who on this thread went? I did and thought it was great. Very well planned. I had some doubts about if attending Appalachian would hurt my chances of acceptance into prestigious graduate programs. I met several students who had my same concerns, but went to Appalachian and have been very successful with graduate school admissions. </p>
