appeal letter

i applied to ucla for the fall semester of 2011 and was rejected. my SAT scores were 1980 and my gpa was 4.05. i rank in the top 5% of my class and i was wondering if i stand a chance if i were to appeal to la. i understand that their reversal rate is pretty low so im not too sure how to present myself if i were to appeal. im involved in many extracurricular activities from clubs to 4 yrs varsity sport to being in the city-wide commission, but the UC application only asked to list 5 of the activities we've done so I was not able to list all of them. please help thanks!

I submitted the appeal a week ago.
My SAT score is 1950…
I’m top10% in my class.
My extracurricular activities are not bad…
UCLA is my dream school, and I’ve been there for summer school.
I also got a recommendation letter from a really nice UCLA teacher last summer.
For some reasons, I was rejected, and I couldn’t find a way to explain my private reasons to the officer.
I then decided to appeal the decision.
The description of appeal was a little bit unclear, so I just wrote about my strong points that were not shown in my previous essay and resume.
The admission process was so mysterious…
I know many people who got 1800+, 1900+, and even 1750 were admitted!
Some people say that possibility of being admitted was even lower than being hit by thunder!! >o<

My UCLA teacher says that the appeal needs more assertions about how my experiences qualify me to study at UCLA.
