I’m still awaiting my rejection from UCD but I’m looking ahead and wondering if it would be worth appealing.

Stats:
CP weighted GPA - 3.12 (due to a terrible Sophomore year)
ACT - 32
SAT 2 French - 800
SAT 2 Math 2 - 720

Currently I am performing better in school than I ever have before and under the hardest schedule I’ve ever given myself. I had a 4.14 GPA last semester (first semester senior year) and got second alternate to state in Oratorical Interpretation in Speech and Debate. Is my very recent performance reason enough for UCD to accept me?

uh… are you French? like really French?

I was born in France but moved to California when I was one. I was raised learning both languages but after eleven years of american education my English dominates my French. It’s still good enough for an 800 on the SAT though =P

oh sorry, just wondering. i’m (almost) in the same situation as you. french myself but moved some years ago, so my French is still dominating my English. I got 800 on my SATII and 5 for AP French haha. I’ll say you have a better chance than me. I have a higher GPA but lower SAT/ACT scores. I think you have a shot.

hm, i don’t think you should worry about appealing right now. Decisions are not out yet, so you never know what could happen next week. I’ll say, just wait and relax for now.

Good luck with getting accepted. I got some advice just in case you don’t get accepted the first time around. If you don’t appeal, then your chance of getting in is 0. It doesn’t hurt to write another short essay which could change your whole college career.

it’s always the terrible sophomore year; at least, it was for me too…

you’ll never know unless you try ;)
