<p>Does Emory even have an appeals process?</p>
<p>I don't know about Emory but I know someone who was rejected by Oxford (UK). He did appeal.... and guess what, he got in.</p>
<p>I guess it won't hurt to try.</p>
<p>I emailed an admission officer quite awhile ago about appealing and got this reply:</p>
<p>We can only evaluate applications based on the information we are given. We cannot allow students to add new information to their file that was not available by the ED deadline. This includes updated testing, mid-year grades, essays, and recommendations. </p>
<h2>If you feel there was something in your file that was overlooked, we do have an appeals process. A student that wants to appeal their admission decision needs to write a letter or email to our Dean of Admission, Jean Jordan. The letter should highlight the areas that the student feels were overlooked (curriculum, activities, ect). Her email address is <a href="mailto:jjordan@emory.edu">jjordan@emory.edu</a>. Our review process is very thorough and it is quite rare that an admission decision is changed. </h2>

<p>i think you should just accept the fact that you were not accepted and move on. Find a new school. There are plenty of choices, and college is what you make of it. Besides, would you rather be known on campus as "that kid who only got in because he complained?" I don't know this is just my opinion, but I feel like in certain circumstances, especially regarding college, everything happens for a reason (and everything turns out fine in the end).</p>
<p>actually marphilk, i'm not sure if I want to do it anyway. I agree with you totally actually - this happened for a reason. i was just curious because it didn't say anything on their site about it.</p>
<p>well, they probably don't say anything about it because they don't WANT people to appeal! haha. </p>
