Hello, I recently applied to Oxford College of Emory University (I have a thing for small towns, so sue me :D) but as I was on the OPUS website yesterday, my login was invalid for approximately five hours; I called their number and they said their website was down and maintenance was working on it. So, around ten p.m. Eastern time, I was finally able to log in again; however, my admission decision has yet to be given. The exact message is "Your admission decision is not available at this time. Please check your Admission To Do list for remaining application requirements. If all application materials have been received, check your school's website for decision release dates or for decision timeframes. Thank you for your interest in Emory University." So, I checked and made sure everything was sent in-it was (wayyyy back in September); only one thing seemed 'fishy': on the Common App, it said the original application (where you put the mandatory essays) was downloaded on November 6th, except mine was done before that. Would that have upset it? I'm getting a little nervous because I was suppose to go in the spring (long story-already contacted the admissions board, who said yes) and the offices are off on Sunday. :/ Has this happened to anyone else?

Okay, so I re-checked everything and it says one of my main teachers did not send a recommendation. Am I completely screwed or is there hope? I sent the forms out to them in September, what should I do? Should I call Emory and leave a message? I’m totally freaking out now-the incompetency of my school always manages to show.

Call your college counselor at school and have him or her call Emory. It should not be a big problem as long as you can get a second recommendation to them soon.

Thank you! Already contacted a teacher on Facebook; he’s sending it tomorrow. Definitely going to take a breather. Thank you again!!
