appealing ucla decision

hey i was wondering what my chances were of getting in on an appeal. it says to include only new matters. i have: csf lifetime, nhs induction, organizing an event for leadership, and a job. what do you think? thanks in advance.

also, i have a 4.2 weighted GPA, have taken 10 AP classes, and got a 2100 on my SATs.

I don't think you'll get in on your appeal. None of those "new matters" you mentioned is particularly compelling, because none of them are unique to a college application -- unless your job is something exceptional like nanotechnology research or investment banking.

alright thanks. i'm actually working in the research department of a doctor's office. i just do filing and stuff though.

oh, and should i include that my brother attends ucla?

hmm can you do anything else at your office? or at least put a bit of "spin" onto your job? like, yes, you are doing filing, but you are IN A RESEARCH department, helping your employer with something "cutting edge", as in, lets say hes doing a project, but you have a hand in it. like, he depends on you.

just a bit of spin on it, you know?

your STATS are impressive, it really sucks that UCLA rejected you. btw, I've not heard of too many people getting in after the appeals process. FYI

did you apply to anything else?

UCSD?

yeahh i get what you're saying about the spin. i heard that only 7% get in on appeals =(. oh well, it never hurts to try, right? ucsd is my second choice. i'll be going there if my rejection isn't overturned. thanks for the response :)

well UCSD is a great school, and even rank wise...42 in the nation i think? [not that rank matters at all]
