Hi all,
Any help appreciated…anyone have a student (class of 2023) that was denied at UT Austin? Like many great candidates, my twins were denied this past Feb. 1. UT was their #1 choice, but took their lumps and decided to move on. I still can’t help but feel if UT ranked so highly with them-they shouldn’t give up just yet. They both did raise their grades, but what else can we say in the appeal? Is it worth it? Any helpful tips much appreciated. Still bewildered (like many, I’m sure) as to why they were rejected (both well rounded with strong test scores, GPA, rigor, EC’s, sports…) THANK YOU!
You can try, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. My nephew had great stats but he wasn’t auto admit. After he got CAP, he appealed. Without going into details, I can say that my family has LOTS of connections to UT, high up, and his grandfather was a professor with national recognition. Nephew got a recommendation letter from someone highly placed. His appeal was rejected.
May I ask your nephew finally decided to for which college?, what is his major?
@DDSUN, he went to Butler University in Indiana and majored in business.
