appearance in my interview

My parents are old school and are of the mindset that facial hair is the sign of an unkempt teenager. They think that it is sloppy and just isn't the sign of a "clean cut kid." I have a "chinstrap" where my sideburns connect to my jaw and go down to my chin, but my cheeks and neck are cleanly shaved and my beard is well groomed. I have a feeling that they will want me to shave for my interview next week. My only fear is that my interviewer (who is from the Class of '65, even older than my parents) may be of the same mindset and have a bad first impression of me. Any advice?

if you want my honest opinion, I wouldnt shave it off because of the interviewer, but because I have yet to see ANYONE look good with that kind of beard. Shaving it will probably make you look better and you won't run the risk of offending your interviewer
