Application Adventure: A Dad's College Essay

<p>Definitely made me want to read the book! :slight_smile: Thankfully I have 18 months or so before we’ll be into the college process. Ouch! I feel like I shouldn’t even have such thoughts until after 3/10.</p>

<p>This looks interesting. I don’t want to be the crazy anxious mom, in fact I don’t want to be involved in the process. But every day my d receives material from colleges (PSAT) and I find myself being drawn into the process a little more.</p>

<p>Thanks for the heads up, Klements. I appreciate being the first and not (as is more often the case) the 10th or 20th on the hold list for this book when it shows up at the library here!</p>

<p>The excerpt made me lol. When my 11th grader took her standardized tests, she (wisely I think) didn’t check the box allowing her to be sent materials. So, we’re not getting all the viewbooks which I am sure I would pore over. </p>

<p>We were recommended, as part of the college counseling kick-off at her school, to have days when we don’t mention college at all. My personal rule is, I don’t bring it up at all, but if she wants to say something or report on a meeting with her college counselor, I’m ALL EARS.</p>
