Technically, my family isn’t eligible for a tuition waiver, however there are extreme circumstances for me.
I was kicked out of the home about a year ago and I am completely self-sufficient, but my guardians are not my legal guardians, I’m not emancipated, and I’m not a “ward of state” or whatever. Is there any possible way I could get a fee waiver (I’m paying for everything by myself) for common app??? Thank you!
Btw I’m kind of freaking out over this, so any answers are greatly appreciated.
You will be better off if you make you current state official. Have your guardians made you legal guardians, be declared homeless, become emancipated. You will then be able to file as an independent student for financial aid.
You may qualify as homeless for applications. Talk to your guidance counselor.
^ what @twoinanddone said. App fee waivers are just the tip of the iceberg of problems you will have paying for college if your current situation remains informal. Financial aid is the big one that will require documentation.
