i'm about to be a college senior (came in junior year as a transfer), and i'm thinking about grad school or law school (def. one or the other), my question is this. if i apply for grad school in fall 06, and get in, i can only be allowed to enter the school for fall 07, right? if i apply in fall 07, i can only be allowed to go for fall 08, is this correct? can the fall 06 application that got me in for fall 07 be used for entry in fall 08?

Depends on the situation and the school. Some schools/programs will allow you to defer for a year, but others will not hold a spot for you. If something drastic occurs such as a serious illness or the likes, I would think you have a case for deferment at a school even if they don't offer deferment in their graduate program. However, if you apply a year early knowing you will need to stay in undergrad an extra year, they likely won't accept a deferal. Basically, just make sure you apply the fall/winter before you want to go to grad school and you will be better off.
