Application Send In Matter?

Does it matter when I send in my OOS application to UT?? Like do they do rolling admissions, and if they don't as long as I make the December 15th deadline I will have equal chance with other applicants right? I'm asking this because I'm debating whether or not to send my current ACT scores (29) or my retake score which I take Oct 24th and will hopefully be between 30-31....what do you guys think, will the later test date effect my application status and chance vs other OOS applicants??

While I must admit, that I do not have a definitive answer, I will give you the same advice my D got. Get all your applications in as early as possible. If a school has rolling admission, the window is always open wider at the beginning. As they build a base, they raise the level. Many schools who do not have rolling, still look at the order received. An admissions director to a college said to my daughter, " I will give you a hundred dollars if you can give me one reason not to send in your application as early as possible." There is no guarantee that you will improve. If I recall from earlier posts and exchanges, you have a great portfolio. Get your application in. You can always send your higher score if you get it. I believe that the early bird gets the worm. When will you have results?
I am sure you will get other opinions. My is based on gut, not absolute fact as it pertains to UT. Good Luck

I got a 29 with score break down 31 Math, 31 English, 31 Science, 23 Reading…which I why I am quite confident my score will raise…I think the Oct 24th test date recieves scores back Nov 10th, if I send in later will they re-evaluate my profile with the new score?

Email the admissions rep for your high school and ask.

How do I find them?

Yes! They will take the highest score that is in by the application deadline

Search for your high school at the bottom.

QueenofEverythin, I really wasn’t sure on this one. How do you know? Is this posted on line anywhere?

I did hear several UT people say this in various meetings last year. The following is posted on the “Be a Longhorn” website under “testing”:

You may submit as many score reports as you like. If you submit more than one score report, we will use the score from a single test date that will benefit you the most when your application is reviewed. We will not, however, combine scores from different test dates (a critical reading score from one test date with a mathematics score from another test date, for example) to come up with a better score

Is that what you were looking for?

It says “when the application is reviewed” so could your application be reviewed and flagged for rejection before the better score comes in? Do the admissions officers review applications continually as they come in? I don’t think they wait til after the application deadline and look at everything then.
