I got my letter into the college of Biz today.... i guess the online thing is legit

i just got my letter in the mail, im from long island

Eric if you don't mind what are your stats like? I applied to the business school to and I really want to go.

my stats were 1220(670M+V550) 510 (W)
GPA around B+/A-
Exactly 20 percentile
Tough courseload
decent EC
Amazing Biz themed essay
pretty tough Central NJ HS

I must not understand their selection process because I was very involved in EC with a 1220 a 3.8, 20th percentile, all honors and AP classes, strong essay in a private PA highschool, seemingly similar to ericg.

No access to site, no letter as of Saturday. SJU here i come?

i got my letter in the mail this morning! ive already decided to go somewhere else (they dont really have the communications program i want at udel), but im still excited that i got in. with so many applicants this year, im actually really surprised i did.

Congratulations! On stealing the spot of others who really want to attend. Delaware seems like a school where people like you take advantage of that.

Thanks!

Why don't people withdrawl their applications if they know they aren't going? Why would you even apply if they didn't have the program you wanted?

got my letter todayyy :)

udel gave me 7500 a year..i might consider it more due to the amount of money they gave me..

anyways, goodluck to everyone else

thanks for your stats eric. mine are almost exactly the same as you except my school isn't very competitive, but it is the biggest one in the state of ohio!!! 4000 plus in grades 9-12.

Also I only have 7 AP classes and I have a few classes that aren't AP or honors because I had trouble making my schedules cause I used to only go part day to school due to my sports. but I think i have over 11 honors classes.

ehart-

i agree...theres a kid in my school who decided to go to penn state over a month ago, and doesnt even have the decency to withdraw her DEL app to give more chance to the other 10+ kids who applied...

In the end it doesnt really matter. The top however many people will get in. Some may hear later because others decline, but the only people who are making others not get in are the ones that do enroll.

Whiskers and Peachy - are you both invited to honors? Are your scholarships merit or need-based? Would you mind posting your stats again? I'm at the beach this weekend (yeah raining like crazy here in Delaware) - wondering if there was mail and money in the mailbox at home.

i was invited to honors yeah...and i got 7500 in scholarship money per year. my sats were 1330 out of 1600 and 2100 out of 2400. my GPA was like a 101w and like..a 95 uw. yeah, our school goes by the 100 scale haha.

umm i guess my ECs were decent. i had NHS, span honor society, key club, varsity badminton, a science internship over the summer, numerous orchestra's, and a chinese school i dedicated my life to, practically hahah.

whatever else u need to know, just ask. but that's all i can think of to put.

I was invited to honors as well with the same amount (7500 a year)
I had a 2240 and my GPA was a 101 weighted as well. I have a lot of ECs, the most important ones being all the bands/orchestras/musical groups I've been in, including a college orchestra. I only had 3 APs (all this year).

i only found out i was going somewhere else last week, i was considering udel up until then. i liked the school a lot, even though their communications program isnt exactly what i want. i just got into another school i liked better.

calm down, kids.

My daughter received an acceptance yesterday by mail in MA. Merit scholarship too. She is still waiting to hear from other schools before making her final decision.

goddammit no post on sunday...

does anyone know how much of an advantage instaters have over out-of-staters?

This is actually a matter of debate in the state. Traditionally, UD had been a safety school for Delawareans. But lately UD has becoming a much more competitive school, which is wonderful. But at the same time, DE students who 15 years ago could have gotten in no problem are now being rejected or being placed in the parallel program. The DE legislators are complaining that UD is actually giving spots to out-of-staters that they should be giving to in-staters and say they are doing it to get more money. So to answer your question... I'd still say in-staters have an advantage, but they have no guarantee that they will get in. You still have a good chance of getting in if you're out of state.

I would like to comment that Delaware reallly needs to become more organized. I applied and sent in all my stuff and about a month later they sent me a letter saying the had not recieved my check or suppliment to the common application. I just kind of ignored it since I had already been accpeted to Penn State: University Park (where I am going to go) and the Universtiy of Michigan. So anyways the other day I got a nice big letter in the mail from Delaware that was my acceptance package. I was really really supprised. We check online with our bank and they still have not cashed our check so I guess I applied for free. Oh and they offered me $6,000 a year and I got into honors. I think it is really kind of funny.
