I got an email with a link to my application status page. The link, unfortunately, is not working. How long should I ait before sending off any frantic emails or telephone calls?

Yes - the link does not work. Can someone from Caltech, please respond or provide an update to the link ? Thanks.

Okay - you got me all worried because I haven't recieved any message from Caltech - when did you apply, wm and sucharita?

The link works for me. I was also pleased to see in the e-mail that decisions will be mailed out by late March. It is so much better to know earlier where I am accepted because than I can plan to go to the preview weekends and the like...airfares double and then quadruple as the date of travel approaches.

Son sent in application to CalTech the last week in December, 12/30th. to be precise but did not hear anything until yesterday with an email and the link to the site. The email also provides login info for him to view the status. Unfortunately, the link did not seemed to be working.

I was browsing the old forum today and I saw this link posted:

I don't know, it might work for you. Did you recieve the email today, worriedmom?

Son received the email with the link yesterday. He did call CalTech yesterday and they confirmed that they have his application - so he should be set and is waiting patiently for the result. I tried the link above and it still doesn't work. However, I believe my son's application is in - since he did check with the admissions person at CalTech.

The problem with the link in the email (at least in the EA email) was that it wrapped over two lines and email programs only interpretted the first line as the URL. The above link works for me. If it doesn't work for you, try manually copy-pasting the entire link into your browser.

Yeah I saw that problem in the e-mail too. All you have to do is copy the second line of the URL, because you can't simply just click on it since the link doesn't include part the "formquery" words.

What I'm wondering is why Caltech sent me an application tracking link AFTER my application is complete, including all supplements. They sent me an e-mail saying that my application was ready and done, and then sent me my tracking username/password. There's not much the tracking site can do for me since Caltech received everything already.

The thing I like about the status site is that it includes everything on it.. even all the supplemental material. They actually type it all out the names of any additional things you might have sent. Nice. :D

yeah- but the link works h88. Thanks! :)

sucharita: No problem.

Weekend is tomorrow and I still haven't recieved anything - worth an email?

I still haven't received anything either. At this point, I'd say it's too early to assume anything. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday..I dunno. If they're entering various information like supplemental forms, it could definitely take a while. At this point, I think we just wait.

Hmm... I still haven't received anything. What about the rest of you people? Anyone new received anything? I might send an E-Mail later today, I guess. We'll see.

Same here - Red Psion.

But I wouldn't worry until Friday.

OK, yeah. It's just kinda frightening not receiving anything and seeing all these people get their status emails. Oh, well. It'll work out.
