Application Confirmed, but...

The link the email gave me to see exactly what they had received doesn't work. Anyone else have this problem, or have any ideas?

no idea.....but my app hasnt even been confirmed...all other schools have but the one that matters hasnt.....its sad

yeah.. what email?

-Oren

a friend of mine also recieved an email but i did not, so i dont know.

weird.....could Ben Golub or any adcom clarify Caltech's position and how they confirm receipt of an application...and when ?

If you did everything on time, Caltech would have gotten your paperwork already. You can confirm it when they email you a link and your username/password. For some reason my link works. Me?, maybe you should use another browser?

Forsaken, it works in neither IE nor FF.

You should email the admissions department and ask them if you want to double-check that they got your stuff and the link in your email doesn't seem to work. ( ugadmissions@caltech.edu )

Apparently, my school blocked the ports that that site used. At home currently and it worked fine, excepting that they somehow didn't get my midyear report... I guess I'll talk to the counselor and make sure they get it as soon as possible.

Got an email containing a username and password a few days ago. It had a link where I could check my app status. Went there and it said that they had received everything but my midyear report.

The link however is not working for me at the moment. Dont think the browser software is the issue here, I switched ISPs and the link doesn't work with the new ISP.

crankedarrow, are you behind some school (or similar) network? I'm pretty sure the port was blocked on my connection here at school, so it worked at home, where ports aren't blocked.

I am at home although I may be behind some ISP network. I tried with a dial-up connection and it worked. So it must be that my broadband provider has blocked ports.

I turned off proxy servers in IE and I got in to the App Status page!! You could try it out and see if it works for you.
