Since there you can't check the status of your application before the actual application is sent, is there anyway I can make sure my other forms (transcript, test scores, teacher recs, etc) were received? I'm paranoid that something will get lost in the mail and I won't know until long after the deadline, since I won't be submitting my application and supplement until at least Dec. 28th.

i'll go ahead and answer this... After you submit your application you'll be sent (by email) a username and password for TAMS. Log on using your given information and there is a tab that has a checklist of items. Slowly your checklist will be complete as they receive everything and process through it.

what if they don't get something? could I resend after the deadline, as long as my application and supplement are submitted on-time?

Bananapancakes,

First: Great song.

Second: We're pretty good about hanging into things even if we don't formally have your application yet. If, for some reason, you need to send in recs or transcripts after the deadline (within reason) you'll be fine. Send your materials (Common App and Supplement) to us by the deadline, and you're set.

But that's within reason; if your recs roll in a week late, you'll be ok. If they roll in 2 months late, that's a different sort of problem.

The TAMS system has check marks next to submitted material. If recommendations and SAT scores were sent in late November, should they be listed now? Everything for my son is checked except SAT scores and recs. don't show up.
Question- For EDII, how often is TAMS updated and when would it be appropriate for my S to call if he doesn't see this material checked on TAMS?

As far as I know, TAMS is a live feed into our system, so it gets updated as we input new information. The issue here isn't how quickly TAMS gets updated, but how fast all the pieces can get tracked down when things are sent in separately.

Wait a bit once you submit your application for everything else to migrate into the folder - say 2-5 business days, depending on the time of year. If things don't end up checked in TAMS, it is absolutely appropriate to call and make sure that we have the recs and such.
