the housing stuff just came online so if you end up getting accepted and know you want to go to RPI, make sure you get it and send it in quickly

"RPI and MIT are pretty much the last schools (except for 2 LAC's that are not high on his list) that S is waiting to hear from. Getting them both on the same day could be a blessing (if he is rejected at MIT but accepted at RPI) or a curse (if he is rejected at both :-[ )

We'll know soon and then we can start making a plan."

theorymom,

Good luck to your son with both schools. I agreed with my daughter that she could apply to any school her heart desires as long as state U was on the list to provide a manageable financial baseline. She's been accepted by MIT (a pleasant surprise), state U and a few others that offered significant merit scholarships, with RPI (dear old dad's alma mater) and a couple more to go. After we know what all the academic and financial options are we'll sit down and see if we can find the best match of her preferences and my financials that will provide the chance for a top-notch education without being saddled with excessive student loan debt.

It's been a long and trying process for her - now it becomes a trying process for us................

gahhh. i wish they were as cool as MIT with 1:59 i can't wait until 7!!!

are we sure the fin aid comes with it? my email made no mention of it...

D was accepted - cute trumpet music with the letter!

So to any of you with acceptances this year, did you find any mention of merit or FA with your acceptance?

waitlisted.

they seem to be doing a lot of that.

I don't think there was any FA or merit with my acceptance webpage.
I thought the music was interesting. All I had was a link to sign up
for a visit or something for accepted students.

wait listed...

Accepted! Yea, your financial aid award is online. At the bottom of the acceptance letter, it says:

"Multiple letters are on file for this account:

March 14, 2009 (displayed)
March 14, 2009 " <-There will be a hyperlink with that.

Click on the 2nd one, and it takes you to a scanned version of your Financial Aid award, and the financial award is there from the Rensselaer Financial Aid Office.

Ps. Waitlists- Hang on there!

What do they mean by "priority" waitlist anyhow? is it ranked? how

Accepted! But I don't see anything about multiple letters.

Vcollege1 - so your FA was there. Was there any merit? I asked about both originally because I assumed that they would be provided at the same time. But D did not apply for FA and therefore we automatically would not have any of that. Merit might be another thing. Thanks for your info.
