Application Updates

I just received a piece of mail from my HS that outline my community service hours and I have much more than I thought I did. On the activity chart I made for the application I said I would have over 260 hours completed by the end of senior year. The mail I got says I already have 265, and I still didn't turn in 40 hours that are going to the office next week, plus another 40 that are going to be completed this semester. That means I'll end up with at least 340 instead of the original 260!

Is it worth it to send an updated activity list to NU? I would also need to make another correction to the list as well. I'm part of the Young Democrats at my high school, and we were working with Florida Atlantic University to set up their planned Democratic debate. Of course, now we know it was boycotted. The thing is, we didn't know that would happen when I was making the chart, and said I was involved in the debate's setup. I don't want the admissions committee to think I'm lying about anything or just stupid. I'm already an on the bubble applicant. Are these corrections bad enough that a new activity chart should be sent? If so, how should it be sent? Thanks.

Please help me.

It can't hurt to advise them of your additional community service hours. You can do so by email to your application counselor. I wouldn't bother with explaining about the FAU debate. You were involved in the setup, or at least the planning for the setup, and you had no control of the situation regarding the boycot. Since you are not required to be clairvoyant to gain admission to Northwestern University, you have done nothing wrong... and much right. It is great that you have done so much to help the community. Intention counts (at least in my book.)

Ok, thanks for your help. How do I find my regional counselor? I can't find it on the NU site. Should it really be going to him/her, or the general admissions email? Sorry, I've never had to correct anything before. Also, should it be corrected in the text of the e-mail, or should I simply attach the new chart with the corrections and say "changes have occurred?"
