Hi everyone
So I applied regular decision on February 1st, a few hours before the deadline. It shows that on the common app. HOWEVER, when I go to my application status it has my application date as February 2nd (after the deadline). Now I know, I shouldn’t have submitted a few hours before, blah blah blah. But the question is whether the adcoms will see my application as having been on time, or late? Thanks
Also, how will I know when my decision comes in. I assume it’ll be obvious, but as of now I see nothing that states whether my decision has or has not been made.
Don’t worry at all. I (and many people I know) applied to UMich early action and submitted our apps the day before the deadline. However, for me, my application status check said my scores were delayed (part of that college board score delay for October scores) and they ended up receiving my app -supps, everything- 3 days after the EA deadline.
I called them, and basically they notified me that they download and actually process everything a few days after the common app deadline. And I still got in! So seriously don’t worry because this is normal and happens at every school. If it would make you feel better though, you could definitely give them a call to double check that you’re eligible for review.
I think you’re fine. I applied early action and submitted my app at like 9:00 PM the day of the deadline, and I still got in. So long as the application time stamp was before 12:00 I think you’re in the clear. Now just let them do the work! Good luck!
As long as you submitted your application on time it won’t matter what the portal says. My D submitted many early action application literally hours before they were due. On the portal many colleges listed the received date as past the due date but she still got in.
