Applications to be sent?

Exactly when should a musical theater hopeful send out their applications. I started filling some out. But I don't know if I should wait to send out my applications yet because i'm re-taking the ACT and taking the SAT this October. Should I still send out my applications in early/mid September?

Others with more knowledge and experience can probably answer this better than I can, but I would say that if you finished filling out some apps and writing essays by then, by all means send them out. You can configure your College Board account to send the SAT scores to those schools (and others of your choice) when you take the test.

Yes, as soon as you fill out your applications, you can send them. You should not send your score reports until you have finished all of your testing. On your application, where it asks for your scores, you can note the scores and test dates so far but ALSO note that you are sitting for the ACT and the SAT on particular dates this fall and will be sending those scores.

Some schools require an application to be filed in order to secure an audition appointment and so there is no need to hold up your application for those schools if your app is ready to go. The application, in terms of actual admissions, will not be considered complete until ALL pieces are received including test scores, transcripts, teacher recs, and the guidance counselor report.

My son was working on the common application today. Emerson has it's supplemental questions, 3 other schools do not have the additional suspplement. He would like to get his application into Emerson so that he can set up an early portfolio reveiw. He is applying for Stage Management. He can't submit the common application until all the schools have their info on line. Does anyone have a solution?

Can't he print out a hard copy for Emerson and mail that directly to them?

Judy, why don't you or he call the school and explain your predicament? I'm sure they will suggest a viable solution.
