Do I have ANY chance of getting in?? I don't think so. I look around and see all of you who have GOOD ASS scores/GPAs and I realize I have no chance. :-(
Can anyone suggest some schools I could actually get into??? Oh wait here's my info:
GPA: 95.8
Class Rank: 6
SAT: 1390 (680V710M)
ACT: 33
I took 3 APs last yr and am taking two this yr and some college classes, and I am President of like three clubs!!
OH WAIT SAT II'S AKA THE WORST THING EVER
Math: 670
Bio: 640
Writing: 750

WOW I AM TRULY DUMB, PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<3 Nik

which school? similar chances as i have... idk

I applied to ARTS AND SCIENCES!! Well now I see that was a DUMB ASS idea considering I am a NYS resident!! :-( Boohooo...

Could Someone PLEASE Answer Me?!?!?!

DONT ANSWER if ur gonna tell the truth tho

I JUST WANT SOME HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you have good chances since your Class rank/GPA and ACT are high. Your SAT II's are not that bad either.

I don't know much about Arts and Science but from what I do know about Cornell as a whole is the school likes to see students who have shown interest in a specific area. What do you want to study? What have you done to show you have interest in what you wish to study? Undecided is hard to predict.. But I think if you have a focus you certainly do stand a chance against the rest of the applicants; remember, test scores are not everything. Essays are important, as are teacher recommendations, but you've gotta have something in your application that shows your personality, that shows your passion for what you enjoy.
Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? If it's unweighted, it's pretty decent. And how many kids in your grade? I know Arts and Science is a competitive school, but if you're a NYS resident, it might be a little different. Your ACTs are good, though for Cornell. Don't worry too much about SAT IIs, they're not as important as a lot of people make them out to be. And your writing score is decent anyway.
I've seen from your other posts to other threads that you're adamant about Cornell. Me too. I'm having a hard time waiting out these next 12 days (I'd be a bit more exact on the countdown, but for that, I'd have to go get the countdown meter on my cell phone and I don't feel like getting up at this moment ;-)). Best of luck to you and maybe we'll see each other up there next year. Keep your hopes up!!

OMG I am sooo screwed. I don't really have a focus or know what I want to study at all. :-( Well I was gonna major in bio as premed but then I realized I sucked at it...
My school only gives us one GPA though, I'm not sure if its weighted or unweighted.

ANYWAYS thanks for your responses& the encouragement. I was totally dying from the wait before I came on here, and now I am even worse because I don't think I really have any chance of getting in& I guess I just want to get over Cornell!! LOL.
Hahaha...I have a countdown on my cell phone, in my agenda, and on my calendar in my room...ohhhh and on my laptop& regular computer...AS IF I WOULD FORGET?!?!?!?!?!
OK...so I guess I'm not the only psycho out there...no? ;-)
Anyway, thanks again for your post!!!!!! I'm glad not everyone out there ignores me! :-P

haha, I have a countdown in my agenda, too.. Only I just read something and I think our admissions may be out on the 8th instead of the 10th.. that would be amazing.. I can't wait any longer either. I hope you get in!! Good luck to you!

yes GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now...WHAT DID U READ?!?!? I MUST KNOW NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

If you look through here: http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?57277/38379
you'll see that someone mentions that the decision came out on the second wednesday in December for the last two years. If that trend holds up, we'll get our decision on the 8th.

The thread where all of this discussion originally took place: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=9094

I did the "ask uncle ezra" on the Cornell website, and the responder confirmed that the decision comes out on Friday, November 10 at 5 PM.

December*

5 PM EST right? So it'd be 4 PM for me.. ha, less wait.

Argh....why won't the website tell us already?!?

Can someone post a message with a big heading when the scores are out on the Cornell web?
should it be out in the morning or in the afternoon 5PM?

Afternoon/evening... they post at 5PM, but most ppl can't get on until like 6 or 7 or even later

they should change the admissions process. Write a computer program so you type in your scores, grades, ecs, essays, and then click submit. The next screen would tell you if you were admitted or not. No wait.

lol AGREED, TOTALLY AGREED...

maybe one of our (if all goes according to plan...) classmates can create one!! :-)
