<p>Does anybody know how they will contact you if you get admitted or not? I live overseas and apparently some schools don’t send letters to overseas students (i got admitted to SCU but never got any form of letter sent to my home and was only notified thru their portal). So will they tell us thru their portal too? Or what? Thanks beforehand!</p>
<p>It will show up on your portal a couple days before the e-mail. The letter comes much later.</p>
<p>My daughter submitted her application on Nov 30 (just hours before it closed) and got her email with the portal information this morning.</p>

<p>My kid got his acceptance at the beginning of the third week of February in 2011. We went to the Open House (Cal Poly’s admitted student’s day) in April and finalized our choice immediately after that. In about 10-15 more days things should move fairly fast if last year was an indication of how they operate. “Officially” the have until April, but realistically they need to tell the students much earlier than that so people can make it to the Open House. When you get accepted, you gotta go to the Open House! It was so much fun. My favorite event was the Rodeo – this is not a joke, it is a real championship intercollegiate sporting event with Bronco and bull riding, calf roping, everything. Where else do you get that? Other schools have Nobel prize winners but Cal Poly has a freaking rodeo!!</p>
<p>I’m a transfer student and I have a 3.3GPA. My major is business admin so I’m a little bit worried… Open house sounds like so much fun, I can’t believe they would have bull riding at a college open house event! That sounds crazy!!! Hopefully I will get accepted so I can give Cal Poly a visit to experience all the craziness for myself.</p>

<p>To anyone that hasn’t received an email: I would call Cal Poly because I turned my application in on Nov.22nd and as of yesterday still hadn’t received an email. I was just going to wait it out thinking that they were busy, but I decided just to call and be safe and it was a good thing that I did because they said that I should have received that email months ago and that I must have pressed something that said I didn’t want to receive emails from Cal Poly, so they re-sent it today and now I have a portal account.</p>
