So, if you didn’t gather from my rather blatant title: I have a question about the applied music program thingamabobber at Brown. If you enter as a music major and decide to audition for the program, is it somewhat like getting training as a vocal major? Just wondering since EVEN though brown’s music dept. isn’t the best, i couldn’t resist the school. I loved it since the second i walked on campus, dearly. And, I had to apply. then i saw this and realized it actually MIGHT be a good thing for me (since i am a vocal major at other colleges…or applied to be at least :P.)

Though I can't really respond to your question, you should know that Brown's music department is much stronger than it's given credit for. For example, the undergrad orchestra is one of the strongest in the nation and they've even played with Perlman.

I do know that it's a very strong department musically but vocally it has its weaknesses (i mean, would you suggest it as a voice college? I'm not so sure, but I don't know. Either way, i love it :D)
