Applied to UCLA for dance major but got a D first semester of senior year

So here’s the situation, I applied to UCLA as a dance major, however, my first semester grades aren’t doing too hot. So far I have a B in AP Lang, a B in AP Macroeconomics, an A in Health, A in Advanced Dance Choreography, A in Dance 2 (I aide/teach class), and a D in AP Statistics. This semester has been rough for me, a close friend/teammate of mine passed away and my parents fought non-stop and were on the verge of divorce. I find it difficult to learn over distance learning as well since my work environment was not exactly ideal. My motivation plummeted along with my mental health, however I take full responsibility for my grades, kids my age have probably gone through worse and I plan on working hard to earn an A and a 5 on the AP test. However to what extent will this have on my admission as a dance major? What do I do/say when I report this and when do I report this grade?

UCLA will give you a provisional admission contract if accepted which states you must maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA Senior year, have no more than 2C’s, no D’s or F’s. This contract has been in effect for several years however, due to Covid they may alter the terms. For Dance majors, it may be different.

That said, until you hear your decision, you are still required to contact all UC’s about a D or F grade.

From the UC website::
If there are changes to your academic record:
If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the campuses you’ve applied to (all campuses except UC Berkeley). If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes.

Keep in mind: We cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

UCLA doesn’t seem to make as many allowances in terms of admitting dance majors with less strong academic records compared to some other colleges. It isn’t clear what your grades were previously but in 2018 a friend’s D was turned down by UCLA based on academics despite getting into several other academically prestigious colleges that hold dance majors to a very different standard for their audition-based BFAs.
